WGLNA Summer Preseason

The WGLNA Summer preseason is a weekly, organized exhibition allowing current and new teams to prepare for the upcoming WGLNA Summer 2014 season.

Weekly prizes will be given out to teams based on point standings for that week.

Teams that play each week, following strict registration rules, are eligible to win an overall prize based on point standings over the entire preseason.

Preseason Rules

  • Teams register weekly and are eligible for weekly and overall prizes.
  • All teams that participate in the weekly tournaments are eligible overall preseason prize under the following conditions:
    • Teams must keep the same team name
    • Teams must keep at least 6 original members of their initial, preseason-registered roster.
  • Teams may only use WGLNA names if there are at least 6 players from that team.
  • Teams will be seeded into different divisions according to WGLNA Winter 2014 standings.
  • Overall standings are measured by total points earned against total points possible across the entire preseason.
  • A table displaying overall standings can be found here.

  • Top 11% - 20%: 750 gold
  • Top 21% - 30%: 500 gold
  • Top 31% - 40%: 300 gold

Overall Prizing

Prizing Eligibility:

  1. Teams must keep the same team name + 6 players to be eligible
  2. Winning prizes are based on the total points across all the weeks
  3. Players earn a percentage of the overall prize based on the number of weeks registered with the team
    • A player who plays 1 out of 5 weeks will earn 20% of the gold prize
    • A player who plays 5 out of 5 weeks will earn 100% of the gold prize

The following gold prizes will be provided to each member of the respective team, including reserves, with the above restrictions:

Does this mean 17 people are on a team?

That seems a bit much fora 7/42 format team.

You're right; it's supposed to follow the normal 7 active + 3 reserves, for a total of 10 player per team. It was correct in the Registration page but incorrect on the graphic.

Should be fixed now. Thanks for pointing it out! :honoring:

Nope, it's 10 members but you need to keep 6 through the whole preseason to get the overall prize.

edit: Nvm, that will teach me to forget to refresh my page....

This is a good idea. I'm curious to see how the divisions play out. We were Open last season and will be moving to Bronze next. I'm curious whether we'll end up playing most Open guys that we've seen before or Bronze...or whether some WG logic will be applied to match us up with Gold.

it should be mostly random. so a bit of both depending on the week. im assuming its one matchup per round, one round per night, unlike the 2 rounds per night in proper open-silver leagues?

The rewards are points based so my guess is that it will be group stages friday and saturday. So at the end of the week you add up the points and you get your ranking.

so when it says Round 1, does that mean 1 match that night with a 5/2 format, or is it a group play where u play multiple teams a night?

Each round is in the Group Stage format. It will be one match against several different teams each night.

Why are the league preseason events during the weekend if the leagues themselves happen during the week?  That makes absolutely no sense, so I guess of course it makes sense to Wargaming.  I just got invited to join a team that I now can't practice with because my girlfriend likes to do other things on the weekend than sit around while I play tanks.

FAIL, Wargaming.  Big time FAIL.

Given that you have made 3 posts here (while your clone has 2) and you have formed a team notwithstanding the timings listed, we have no idea what you are talking about

Cool looking tournament format, although maybe a bit complex. Will be interesting to see how this goes down.

Couple questions:

Like Moguai asked above I am curious as to what % the weekly prizes are based on:

a) Is it against your possible points earned? i.e. if everyone loses at least 1 game in a group with 8 games (24 possible points)  no first is given out since the highest score would 21 points (87.5%)

b) is it against your group? (i.e. the top 10% of point earners in your group win 1st)

c) is it against everyone  (i.e. the teams who scored the top 10% of scores based on points earned/points possible of every team that participated)

Also, about the returning 6 member rule(s).

So you have 10 people on a team the first week. The 2nd week you come back with 6 players from the first week, and 4 new players. Now on the third week who are the 6 that need to return, is it the ORIGINAL team, or the team that participated in the latest week? Can I bring 6 people from the original week's team that may not have been on the 2nd week into the 3rd week and it count as a returning 6? Or is it the opposite, can a team switch out players as much as they want as long as at least 6 people come from the prior week?
