there was a mod project that involved making each vehicles skin show where the modules are located...different colors representing different modules. its in the creativity section i think. the only problem is that each module is a 3d object in the tank, so the spot you have to hit varies depending on your relative angle to the target. the easiest thing is to just fire when the penetration indicator is green.

Well, that is nice indeed.. but I also want to know where the armor is weakest.

Mods like these should not be allowed in the game. If you dont know where a weak spot in a tank is then do some research. Its just another form of cheating. Thats just me though. Use common sence. If a sherman tank in WWII had to take out a tiger tank do you think the sherman is going to go head to head with him?

Stabone, I meant pictures. That is research.
Zombie, I can't find that mod.. Can you show me or tell me a little more what to search for?

like i said, weak spots can be found by observing the armor penetration indicators and through game-playing experience. generally, the thickest armor is on the front, thinnest on the rear, and turrets have a little more than hulls. every vehicle is different, but getting penetrating and/or critical hits is just as much about luck as anything else. the skins i mentioned look awful and really dont work since the tank has to be coming directly at you or driving directly across. just play a while and youll figure it out...things like hatches, cupolas and vision ports are places to start.
edit:
ill look around...havent seen it in a while.
pretty sure this is it. its really incomplete...i wouldnt bother. just play...and get some actual good skins on your tanks.

The easiest is to buy to buy the tank first then look closely on their modules. If there's hatch or slits on front hull its most likely driver slit/hatch. Same thing happens for commander/loader hatch, commander hatch usually bigger than loader. If you find a hole near its gun its most likely there's gunner behind that hole, hitting it will kill the gunner.
For some tanks there's escape/ammo hatch on the rear turret. Hitting it will kill commander/gunner/loader.
Engine usually placed on the rear part of the tank aiming exhaust pipe or engine hatch will destroy the engine as well, but for German tank hitting driver might also broke its transmission which will damage its engine.
For harder one you can try buying tank encyclopedia or find them on internet for tank drawings and layout.

Yeah aim for places that give you a green penetration indicator, and if you have the penetration to pierce their turret, try to aim for the back or sides of it and you'll likely cause an ammo rack explosion, ammo rack damaging, or kill the loader, all either crippling the enemy or killing them outright. Aim for the turret ring whenever you have the chance, as it's a nice squishy part that brings with it the chance to kill crewmen.
Other than that aim for the sides, rear, or underbelly of the enemy and hope you penetrate.

I know they had a few of these floating around the forums during beta. Maybe check in those archives, if they're still around. Otherwise... Just as others have said, shoot when the reticule is green.

Shooting right up the barrel is perfect if you want the enemy to stop firing.

Not a cheap shot
But surely with 6K+ games under your belt you know the weak spots by now?
Use a skin if you must but without a gun with the pen value required you'll still struggle.

Logic works well if you have familiarity with tanks. Personally, I know very little about them or their history.
I have familiarity of all the tanks but I still use steeldevils skins just because everyone else serious about the game uses them.
This is also why I heavily modify my game with hp markers for tanks and custom aiming overlays.

This is all you need to know:
Front hull: generally a bad idea. Aim for the lower plate (that leads to the underside of the tank), or aim for driver slits (little rectangular holes on the hull where the driver peeps out), MG ball mounts, and/or generally flat surfaces.
Side hull: hit near the middle of the hull, between the tracks and turret, also has a chance of scoring module damage.
Rear hull: Shoot anywhere. Tanks have the least armor in the rear.
Front turret: Also generally a bad idea. Lots of slope and/or thick armor. Aim for exposed areas like the commander's cupola, or shove an HE round into the gun to knock it out.
Side turret: A better idea. Aim for it so the aror is a flat plate instead of sloped.
Rear turret: also a good idea. Also has chance of hitting the ammo rack for tanks.
Me, i do this. If i shoot at a tank and it goes through most of the time, i remember where i shot it up so i continue to aim at that spot.

So there is no website then with pictures. I don't feel bad about going to a website and reading/looking about the weak spots and applying them in game. But simply downloading skill and installing it is something I won't ever do. I won't go that low.
