Group Stage Standings

Skirmishes now have three days of group play (Monday-Wednesday) followed by a playoff (Friday-Sunday). Teams can choose to play only in the weekend playoff or participate in group play for better seeding and greater prizing.

After completing group play, a standings table will sort all teams across all groups based on points earned against points possible. Prizes are awarded at completion of group play to teams finishing in the top half of the standings. These teams qualify for the Alpha Playoff. All remaining teams qualify for the Bravo Playoff.

Alpha Playoff

  • This playoff consists of the top 50% of group play teams who will play for a larger prize pool. Group play performance will determine playoff seeding.

Bravo Playoff

  • This playoff consists of all remaining teams and includes teams registering solely for the weekend. These teams will compete for a smaller prize pool and the playoff brackets are not seeded.

Both the Alpha & Bravo Playoffs will use multiple brackets holding a maximum of 16 teams. This means multiple winners are awarded prizing for their standing in their respective bracket.

Teams and players may only register once for the skirmish.

What battle mode is this? Regular or encounter?

Standard. When we use encounter mode, it will say that.

Are the Group stage prizes given per each group stage or are they once for all 3?

Once for all 3 is the only logical explanation. Than it would be way to easy to earn gold. Granted it is still easy...

The group stage prize is given out once, based on the scores from all 3 parts of the Group Stage.

Skirmishes change every week, both in tier and in team size. If this one is not suitable for your team the next one may be. This has been the same for 2 years now every week.

There definitely needs to be some tweaks to make these more engaging. 10 battles x (10 minute match + 5 minute break) between each match = 2.5 hours x 3 evenings of skirmishes = 7.5 hours of dedicated game time just a 3 day period.  Also the battles often finish for us during the first 5 minutes so we end up waiting around for the next match in the garage more than we do actually playing the game. After the first 2 hours of non stop play and waiting around in the garage our guys start getting bored and tired. To make these enjoyable I think the target should be an average of 1 hour of play time per evening.

What I like about this format: You get to play against more teams and don't get eliminated first round by a luck of the draw seeding against the best team(s)

What I liked about the existing format: It was nice to have an opportunity to adjust strategies and tank lineups to adapt to what the other team was bringing by playing a good team more than once.

There's pros and cons to both formats. The bravo playoff seems to be like the existing skirmish format and but why was the reward for that cut in half? It appears the reward incentive for the tried and proven skirmish format makes it look less desirable as well.

Actually it 2hrs 10min ( 9matches x 15min. - 5min.) a day max. for the group stages.

I guess if you pros get bored 'competing' for gold and glory (using this format), then you should spend your time solo pubbing where you at least have a decent chance of a challenging match. Not all of us can earn big gold in Clan Wars like the top clans do, so this is a real nice opportunity for some lesser clans to win something meaningful. How many hours would you spend preparing, waiting in queue and fighting in CW across three nights?

The little breaks between matches are handy to re-organize the team, discuss strats etc. Maybe you are so good you finish in 3 minutes then have nothing to discuss, but others need time to think and plan.

For many I am sure this format does NOT need any tweaks and is a Great Opportunity to come together and focus and even hang out and chat together while waiting.

Dear Wargaming: Please keep this format so SIMP and G etc. get bored and do something else.

It would be nice to have a shot at the top 10%!

Like the format more games more experience. Don't really understand the payouts for bravo brackets, 5 groups 5 winners? If you made it to Saturday does that mean your in the top 8 for your group and win gold? Skirmish 11 should be fun big map, 5 on 5. Long matches!
