Group Stage Standings

Skirmishes now have three days of group play (Monday-Wednesday) followed by a playoff (Friday-Sunday). Teams can choose to play only in the weekend playoff or participate in group play for better seeding and greater prizing.

After completing group play, a standings table will sort all teams across all groups based on points earned against points possible. Prizes are awarded at completion of group play to teams finishing in the top half of the standings. These teams qualify for the Alpha Playoff. All remaining teams qualify for the Bravo Playoff.

Alpha Playoff

  • This playoff consists of the top 50% of group play teams who will play for a larger prize pool. Group play performance will determine playoff seeding.

Bravo Playoff

  • This playoff consists of all remaining teams and includes teams registering solely for the weekend. These teams will compete for a smaller prize pool and the playoff brackets are not seeded.

Both the Alpha & Bravo Playoffs will use multiple brackets holding a maximum of 16 teams. This means multiple winners are awarded prizing for their standing in their respective bracket.

Teams and players may only register once for the skirmish.

these are great! thanks, WG!!!

i think ive figured out why some teams are accidentally registering for bravo playoff though... when you click "Participate" directly from the tournament homepage, it goes to registration for the bravo playoff by default. This almost tripped my team up last week, and i know it tripped some others up too.

Why the matchmaker is allowing that? It an programming error?

Good question. We were playing all tier IX heavies, and then we came across ~E-XL, who were running an Obj. 704. OUT OF SELF DEFENSE, my team resorted to running ONE tier IX tank destroyer. I had a nasty experience with Skirmish 12 where there was a programming error, and it resulted in dozens of Technical Defeats. I repeat, this was out of SELF DEFENSE that I made the call to run a tier IX tank destroyer. Wargaming has had a history of [edited]up the skirmish rules, so I checked, double checked, and triple checked to see if I could find anything to stop us from using one.

There was NOTHING stopping anyone from running any tank up to tier IX, and unless WG wants to have a lot of confused, pissed off players on their hands, I would suggest that they do what they used to do.... BUILD THE [edited]TIER LIMITS INTO THE DAMNED SPECIAL BATTLES. This is the 4th time I've been screwed over the pool table in a skirmish because of WG [edited]up. As a paying member of this game, I demand that my voice be heard. Last time, WGA-A sided with SIMP. I am not a top clan member, but it shouldn't matter. Fix this problem.

I have replays to prove everything I have stated thus far, and I have many screenshots as well.

All you would have to do if you see a tier 9 tank destroyer is just submit a dispute and whether you win or lose it'll count as a win for you. Similarly to the tking system, retaliating is not the way to go about it and now it is likely that both of you will be punished for running tier 9 tank destroyers.

As a general reminder: any team that ran into an opponent that brought an illegal tank line-up or otherwise broke the rules (e.g. Tier IX TD or SPG) needs to submit a dispute to tournaments@wargamingamerica.com following the guidelines posted, TONIGHT.

Failure to do so, or attempting to discuss the dispute on the forums before it has been resolved, could result in your dispute being disregarded.

Thank you.

No one is siding with anyone. Tier limits are set to the highest tier allowed; however it is not possible to set limits for each tank type. Which means, that it is up to each team to know the rules, both for themselves as well as for their opponent in the case of disputes.

Any mess ups tonight are solely on the team captains that refused to obey the posted tournament rules; yourself included by your own admission. As someone else stated, send in the dispute with your screenshots and we will take care of it.

Thanks.

They're there - all tied for 81. (50% of 162 teams), I should have just left the gold payouts color coding off as it confuses the issue at this stage.
