I recently bought this tank, and I would like a few tips for driving it, and what crew skills to get, etc.

tips: dont get spotted, always be in a bush, use your depression when you can, DONT GET SPOTTED

You definitely snipe. Its a sniper tank, you want to stay afar and use your awesome gun and modest camo to your advantage. On maps such as Westfield or Sand River, you can be 2nd line using your gun depression to peak over hills, shoot, and fall back. Only do this when they're not looking at your, though.

Crew skills: If you know how to crew train with german tds, do that. Otherwise, 6th for commander, rest camo. Then camo for commander, deadeye for gunner, clutch breaking for driver, and safe stowage for loader

Use credits/gold to retrain crew if you decide to actual train dead eye or safe stowage (both need 100%).

Plus it takes quite a long time to train a second skill.

But yeah, camo and sixth sense first. Clutchbreaking, snapshot and safestowage are nice. Situational awareness and recon helps a lot too.

Trying to learn how to play this thing...rough start (0-3) reminds of of the Nashorn, but with better gun depression, and I'm not sure this tank deserves full MM - or I've just had several god awful matches in it.

And...what the hell do you do in maps like Elrenburg, Ruinberg, Artiic Region and worse of all, Severgosk!   Especially in tier 8 games....

No matter what map your on, find a hill, ditch, or something to hull down behind (preferrably with a bush). Abuse that gun depression. On city maps, stay in the country side. This is a great td if you can stay hidden and out of sight. 6th sense is a life saver. This td can rack up damage points fast with solid hits.

I luved mine so much. but then any prior use of 105 shells was in the L28

as far as i was concerned i could now hetz someone from across the map. (still do ;)

I have a nashorn now and i do like its long 88 better (even without the depression) but the dmax is fun and does get preferential MM use your glass cannon as intended and you will do well.

It is similar to the Nastyhorn.  Not exact, but similar.  Find nice rises and hills to hole up behind, then peek over on spotted enemies and abuse that gun depression.

Those 4 maps have plenty of hidey-holes for a Dicker Max to get into.
