Group Standings

Skirmishes now have three days of group play (Monday-Wednesday) followed by a playoff (Friday-Sunday). Teams can choose to play only in the weekend playoff or participate in group play for better seeding and greater prizing.

After completing group play, a standings table will sort all teams across all groups based on points earned against points possible. Prizes are awarded at completion of group play to teams finishing in the top half of the standings. These teams qualify for the Alpha Playoff. All remaining teams qualify for the Bravo Playoff.

Alpha Playoff

  • This playoff consists of the top 50% of group play teams who will play for a larger prize pool. Group play performance will determine playoff seeding.

Bravo Playoff

  • This playoff consists of all remaining teams and includes teams registering solely for the weekend. These teams will compete for a smaller prize pool and the playoff brackets are not seeded.

Both the Alpha & Bravo Playoffs will use multiple brackets holding a maximum of 16 teams. This means multiple winners are awarded prizing for their standing in their respective bracket.

Teams and players may only register once for the skirmish.

For the map rotation will we know what map we will be fighting on when the special battles pop, or will it be randomized when the game actually starts?

WG knows us so well. Other than Widepark, (if you put in Komarin) you would have the only maps we ever get in pubbies.

Yes - was going to be our question as well.  Gives us time to change tank line ups if it pops at Special battles.

10 pm eastern start time is crazy. why catering to the west coast all the time. i have a team that wants to play , however 10 pm eastern is to late. ( consider the fact that Canada has an extra time zone than America, and 10 Pm eastern is actually 11 PM to ALL east coast Canadians.)

Come on WG stop the bias, let us compete.. heck even the mash up is at 9pm eastern, why cant you have skirnishes earlier. like you did with the daily blitz's

Because they have 6 Canadian time zones to appease and only 4 U.S time zones to accomodate.  9:00pm or 10PM your time is 5:00 or 6:00 Pacific and too early for the large west coast populations.  Alas, you are done in by the sparse populations in your time zone that play WOT compared to the pacific time zone.

I live in the Atlantic time zone and can do these fine... I even get up at 6am to do farm chores before I drive 45 mins to work.  Although even a 30 mins decrease in start time would be better it would then interfere with other tournaments that go on like the challenges.

It's the trying to sleep after a really close game that's tough...  all wired up.

If you are signing up for this, please have at least three people in your team with a Chaffee. Any team that does not have two Chaffees will be severely hampered. Being able to spend ten tier points on two tanks that are arguably better than tier sixes is much better than spending ten points on another tier six and a Luchs. Be considerate to your fellow competitors and bring competitive tanks.

Given the issue there's been with CTDs (especially with hellcats in battle) since 9.0 released, is there any kind of contingency in place if one or more players crash out of a battle?

Ok Peoples....first off, you will know what map it is when the battle pops. So you will have a enough time to come up with a strat, however doing this for all the maps prior is the best practice. Second: Wagaming has 7 days to pay gold owed to you.(so stop crying about not being paid as soon as you win some). I always get my gold in a timely manner. People really need to learn the art of "reading" and the lost art of "common sense." For those who don't know Wargaming has a business to run and concerning themselves with every trivial thing you some of you muster up an deem important is absolutely preposterous. Now, about tank selection! (I am going to be nice here) for the new tourny players...IT IS BEST TO UNDERSTAND SOME TANKSARE BETTER THAN OTHERS FOR TOURNYS'. We choose our tanks wisely to give us the best results and take all aspects into consideration. Such as DPM, view range, armor, speed, etc. If you think you can just slap together a couple of tanks and make it to the finals without fail....well ....common sense!(oh noes there is that word again). Now if you,do my hat is off to you because you are straight beast and deserve a 1st place ribbonIf somebody brings the illegal tanks...screenshot and replay..then email.....really simple. Hopefully that helps rather than seeing a bunch of nonsense in the posts. Lastly,.reading the rules! It is a good thing! Common Sense is an awe-inspiring, majestic art passed down from the ages. As for the more competitive teams out there, good luck! I think they are going to try that mashup format which translates to a break from tourny's for us. Hoping to see some good fights. These skirmishes have been great, just like the Blitzes. I guess Wargaming has deemed them as a detriment for reasons of business I am sure. Good luck to all and see you on the field.

Should be a fun one, the tier 6 tourneys always bring out some of the best competition.

How are the maps seeded?

Our team got Ensk 8 games in a row, which, given the odds, seems a little less than random.

We got Cliff > Mines > Widepark > Repeat. Seemed weird.

Why does the Tournament page say that way the maps chosen for the battles on each day is random?

Our entire bracket battle schedule was Ensk, all seven (7) games. Ensk. What is the probability of "randomly" choosing Ensk seven times in a row out of a possible six total (6) map choices?

As such, how is that "random"? To me, that seems like the map rotation is actually pre-determined per group beforehand or that it is sorted by individual team name.
