I've haven't been able to play for the last few weeks, except for Tuesday night. I tried to get into a historical battle but only 6 or 7 people were there.  Is anyone playing these? Maybe i was there at a bad time?

Any idea why on the na server kursk and spring won't form a game even if the queue is filled with players?

Downloaded the ru client and turboed to a t-70 and got into kursk first try with only about 11 in the queue for each side.

Games was mostly tiger and isu152 spam with a few other tanks.

This was on the ru3 server with about 35k players.

Seems that is about the same ratio as on the na server but again a game won't form.

Your tank gets whatever gun and ammo its supposed to have when you join, researched or not.

Would be nice to be able to join. Every time I try It times out. Try at least 3 times then just go and play random.

Every day I jump into HB on the NA east server....

Every day this week I have waited till I got bumped out of q. different sides different tanks

Minimum of 3 trys each time.....

I really enjoyed HB when I could get in a match and would really like to run some more....but I am growing very tired of 5 minutes...bump...5 minutes....bump...5 minutes ....bump.....

I'm off to try again....another 15 minutes I'll never get back....

Since there is only a limited # of each type that can be run per battle...mebbie show what tanks are not"spoken for" in a waiting match...might get rid of 5 ppl trying to run tiger 2's at the same time.....and let the match get filled properly

I really don't care what tank I run in HB...I just want in.

75mm L/48 was the standard for new Panzer IV's 2 years before this battle

I'd accept the L/43 if WG said it was representing some refitted Panzer IV's(which the Germans did do sometimes), but at the moment we're led to assume these vehicles are representing the "main" of their production series, which the Panzer IV isn't if it has the L/43 instead of L/48

Too bad the game is still too broken for anyone to play it.

tried 5 times already today - nothing... on any of the three battles and in some cases I was the only one in queue at 10am PST.

What gives - this does not seem to be a popular event or battle mode with its current design.

One map gets boring after 2 battles

One should not need to wait 4 mins to get into a battle

One should have a better user interface even, bad design wins again.

I look forward to improvements.

Problem I had or have is waiting 5 minutes for  5 times and I too do believe that's it broken and players are staying away from it so I suggest that WG developers fix it.

I've tried many times and can't get a battle, either not enough players or too many on one side.   So historical battles are not the going thing at the moment.

In the article, it looks like the second map is just a repeat of the first one.  Perhaps a link needs to be fixed?

I think the timing of the introduction of Historical Battles with the CTD prone 9.0 update contributed to such a bad start that it never really got off the ground.

In the meanwhile, I think people have misconceptions about how it works, mostly because WG has provided very little information in the way of how the game mechanics for this mode work.  More information about how these historical tanks are configured and how the match-making works might lead to people trying to use more than just the highest tier and heaviest tanks.

It does allow you to use a newly bought tank in stock configuration, because the historical battle mode configures all the same tank models in the same fashion.  Its actually a good place to grind a newly bought tank for this reason.

Also, all the people who complain about gold spam in random battles should find some relief in the historical battles, since the tanks I've seen only get a very small amount of gold ammo (1-3 rounds).

So, I just spent 10 minutes waiting for my first historical battle, Spring Awakening, before switching over to Battle of the Bulge in utter frustration. At least there, there were enough players to start off...

So on we go - only for me to Crash to Desktop a mere 3 minutes into the game. You can imagine how, at 6 to 7 tanks (cannot even check the record after the crash) versus 15 enemies, each tank that crashes on our side means an automatic loss.

With all due respect and honesty: Fix the game before launching events.

I really hope that this game mode doesn't disappear because I think it is great. The problem is not only that few people play this game mode, but when you play on the outnumbered team (The Germans) nobody works together. They just spread out and go on 1v4 fights against T-34s or Hellcats. I have only had one game that my German team worked together and it was epic. However, when I wanted to play another round I couldn't because all the players left the que. I suppose that if it were done in a different way that wasn't so random it would be better because Historical battles is kind of like Random battles in the sense that everyone you play with is random (and we all know the type of teamwork that goes on in Random Battles).

Historical battles just do not work in this kind of arcade like game. People like to build up their tanks to get new ones but historical battles do not provide an avenue to do that. Additionally, most tanks in historical battles just are not great tanks to play or keep around. The only way to get people to play historical battles would need to be massive compensation like 5x XP for matches, or 3x credit income. That way players could use historical battles to still enjoy that aspect of the game while not hurting their grind to get more money and XP for other tanks.

Battle of the Bulge is fairly easy to get into during popular NA game times.

I play this one routinely. Lotta fun....
