Because Arty are so BAD in how they perform, and there are other factors like "too fast of games" etc. which cause the ability to be CONSISTENT to be too hard.

 

The more a tank is able to be "consistent" (i.e. be good in performance, speeds, accuracy etc.) the more ANYONE can do good (i.e. according to their actual skill level) in the tank.

Tanks are so bad now for example since the Great Physics Nerf and other speed and gun nerfs that I will only play Lights and a couple of Auto-Loading med's that can still somewhat perform.

I just can't play almost anything else (unless I play low tier which I don't).

I will give my 2 cent after retrying arty after they nerf the living crapof their HE round as well removing AP shell like those of the Object 261.  This is a necro post but I'm going to says it anyway.

They, the arty, cannot defend themselves well beyond help from your team holding the flank to happen to leave one open or get their butt handed to them, only bad player will go as far in the back if they don't know anything about arty arc elevation and having worse accuracy and time travel the farther away it is to not move up when in no danger.

 

  I only play a few game to find nothing rewarding to play as a arty to have many problem with its nerf state, the stun assist will screw over the other arty Xp and credit earned in battle to gain it all.  The Hummel was stuck with only damage of 1,472 with 194 stun damage, compare it to 1,518 damage with 1,473 stun damage by me.  Difference in Xp is 1,214xp base and the Hummel get 589xp, that is a BIG difference to be not worth my time to grind more on the Arty and neither one of us gotten a kill in that game.  A Pz.Kpfw. IV did 1,119 damage with one kill have 761Xp base in this match with 781 spotting damage.  I made a profit of 27,720 without a premium account but it cost 6,060 to fire 12 shot, six direct hit with six splash damage.  It would been a lot lower if I didn't have stun assist damage credited.  We won the match by focus fire here and there but nothing special about this game match at all.  Only mistake by players on the red team to come to the same spot three time where I'm nailing him numerous of time as I was focusing him to stop him from scouting my team.

 

It get worse from other game match and arty I play to not do enough damage to be easy target in my Object 261.  It is not be capable of self defense from a open flank left unguarded to wish it was AP shell instead of the mediocre HE shell damage.  Or couldn't do enough damage to help the team push as they get run over to watch two arty with both the worst view range get taken out one by one without capable of spotting the enemy tank even when they fire smart behind bushes.

 

 They just cannot do well but a one trick pony of capable of taken out low HP tank or to stun them or suffer a slow lost of not capable of winning matches because the damage is too low on the HE round that even smaller caliber have a terrible time hurting a KV series at lower tier that do not have a stun, there is no way of hurting them well enough with arty HP to be so low and stat wise below average.  Which very often, I left heavy tank being ignore and try to hit lighter armor targets to try everything I could help my team to win the match.  I would rather play in a TD than arty any day and after a week of not playing Arty, I'm shock at how many TD there are on both side.

That's funny, especially since it's the most nerfed class in existence, slow, no hit points, no view range, no camo, very low DPM, really nothing going for it, and if you try playing it more than a few games, that's very apparent, as the WN8 for even a "good" artillery player will hover around 1000-1500, depending which nerfmobile you're playing. There's nothing funnier than guys with purple stats complaining artillery "ruins their game".

Whats an “artilery player”?  Everyone plays multiple lines of tanks, including those “purple” players who also play artillery.

I am a perma teal, grinding the American arty line.. was planning to update my anti arty game play.. yea know the more you play it the better you should be at playing against it. Only up to the M12... but damn if you’re against a semi competent arty player then have fun hiding..  sadly I do admit it’s the only class of “tank” in game that I LoL and wife looks and shakes her head.... nothing beats tossing a round in to a spot you think some one is, then have the kill pop up 10 seconds after the shot cause well  thiier tank burned down...

I have one battle in an Arty?I can't  believe that Ive never seen one in my garage or recall having any good reason to be in one that's disturbing.

Why do guds hate arty? XVM sniping for the most part. I know that when I play arty and a gud pops his head out its getting whacked until he goes away. Suppressing that one gud can do more to sway the match in your favor than taking out guns of lesser players.

I must be unlucky. Lately I keep running into arty players with clan tags from Simp, G , 200IQ, etc.

Didn't know they let sub 50%ers in.
