This is a thread for all classic movie lovers out there. There is a bunch of good movies, but what really stands out in your mind as the one that makes you smile and want to see over and over again.

Mine is Excalibur. The one with Sir Patrick Stewart. Yup its old but it just is good to me.

So whats yours.

The Beast of War, aka The Beast.  An Israeli film made in about 1989 about a Soviet tank crew separated from their platoon in the wilds of Afghanistan.

They used an Israeli Army surplus TI-67 (captured and re-engineered T-54) as the tank - when it fires it's gun it really rocks back on its suspension !  The best bit when they spot a Mujaheddin patrol at a watering hole and the commander calls for an HE round on target.  "No HE".  Okay then, how about HEAT ?  "No HEAT".  Fine, use sabot !  The looks on the muji's faces when the round goes past is classic !

Best damned war film ever made !

I'm obsessive about movies... so hard to choose really... I have a nice collection of Western and Eastern films. hehe

But I would have to pick Rough Riders.... because seriously there are like no movies about the Spanish American War but this one... and it's such a glorious movie.. Latinos, Native Americans, African Americans, Caucasians, shoulder to shoulder, in a battle that most Americans never even heard of and less know of it as time goes on... it's like the Zulu of the United States, it's that awesome of a movie.   This battle made General Pershing's Career, and helped Rise Theodore Roosevelt to utter fame.  To me one of the best presidents this nation has ever had.  *sniffles*

I know some Cubans don't find the film accurate thinking it glorifies the United States so much in this controversial war, but it's a movie who cares if it's accurate, it doesn't make Cubans or the Spanish out to be bad.  Heck if people pay attention the United States is made out to be Warmongering during the film, blood thirsty for a war.

Beautiful two part movie personally and this Movie was made for Television, not some huge high budget blockbuster.  I love it dearly, when I saw it on DVD on a store shelf, finally I had a chance to have it for myself, and smiled.   I have this film on my shelf next to movies like Glory, Memphis Bell, Gettysburg and Tuskegee Airmen.

Any time "Oh Brother where art Thou" comes on I HAVE to watch it. Doesn't matter where I catch it, I always find myself watching it.

LOVE the movie "Dark City" and any time it's on I always watch it. It also has the lovely Jennifer Connely in it to :)

I can't tell you how many times I've watched the movie "Airplane", I would say easily 100 times LOL
