Anyone that does not post a positive feed back regarding the topic of this thread in favor of the OP and posts something negative to OP's statements is defending you know what and has something to hide in my opinion. Some of you told on yourselves already.

There is a way if you write your own modpack and write your code to detect certain hacks, aimbots, etc. My modpack detects the illegal mods such as the warpack mod. Sry, I don't share. WG supposedly was supposed to implement something in the game to detect illegal mods....have yet to see it.

Is there a way for players to positively tell when another player is using this?

We can't all report every player we come across for cheats when we have no clue.

I ask because today in one of my matches, i swear an SU-122-44 was using it. He was on the other side of the map, and dropping shots in between these 2 hills trying to hit me and 2 other tanks. By other side of the map, i mean I'm in the 2 line, and he's in the 0 line.

If you mean the spot I blind fire at on that hellish sand map then he was probably blind firing at it, or you were spotted and he knew you were between the two hills even out of draw distance.

There is NO way to tell if someone is and people shouldn't be accused.

Some players use the mini map and experience with the map. Based on where you were last spotted, even if you are well beyond draw range if one knows the map and landmark where you on the mini map one can get lucky with hits. I've done this, and with a fast RoF gun the SU-122-44 has, I'd gamble and take shots at you too.

Yup. I blind fire all the time. That's why my hit % is so low. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

And anyone who posts a favorable response to the OP, usually doesnt know mechanics and tactics. Somebody always has to cheat huh? Why can't some people just be good? There are tons of people better than me and I don't run on the forums screaming haxxxxxers!

I've killed a T67, I think it was a T67, from full health in my E25 by blind firing where I had last seen them. For the number of shots it took, you would have thought they would have moved.

I'd go with this.  Shooting tanks in the northwest from the center on Karellia is really good for this.  The rocks are distinct and it's fairly easy to pick out where to aim when tanks disappear, or are out of view range.   Play on these maps enough and you eventually learn how to use terrain features to guide your shots, and use it to your advantage.

This is far more likely than warpack, since I doubt warpack is capable of threading through rocks and buildings with that kind of precision.  It most likely uses the game's autoaim feature, which is going to aim at center mass, rather than a small portion of a tank that may be poking out from behind a rock.

Why does Barack require premium account? Seems tinfoil hat inducing.

Speaking of tinfoil, my spellchecker thinks warpack should be Barack...does that mean Obama is behind it?

You most likely hit his engine or tracks with one of the shots. Happens to me every now and then ... I get one "blind" kill like this every couple of days this way (especially with my Te-Ke; low tier players just stand still or back off instead of running for the closest cover).

And yet another fool that think Sela was using warpack.

They're too lazy to do research or even ask sela themselves. They'd rather throw on the tinfoil hat to cover up their own shortcomings.

Why no punkbuster? To many Punks in this game. For once I'd like to play a game where everyone played on even terms. No mods, no cheats.

No worries, Warpack coming to WOT in 10.0 stock with a premium account and Havok is delayed to 11.0.  Cheers.

Ban all mods and incorporate some of the most popular features into the game. Ends the chance to 'exploit' the client so easily.

And in the process of banning all mods you ruin the ability for people to create more potential popular features.

All WG would need to do is police their own banned mod list a bit more and things would be fine. I doubt Warpack is as prevalent as people make it out to be.

I've been accused of using Warpack and I'm not even a really good player, not to mention aside from a music pack I run the game vanilla.

Too bad you'd have to scan their mods folder. All information your client gets is grabbed from other computers by the server and is tunneled to you through WarGaming via a server. You literally only get the server sending information about the players. Which by the way doesn't include their mods nor' their files.

Yeah..... thats [edited]....

You can use your eyes, logic, statistics (as in if they play 24/7) but Im more than confident that you havent written a mod pack that allows you to scan other peoples computers for "illegal mods" or you would be liable to getting a knock on the door from federal authorities because no one has clicked a EULA saying they agree to commo81 reading the files on their computers.

The only way to detect is to install a rootkit like punkbuster and even that is so easy to bypass its not even funny, what is funny however is that people can put fragments of text code into popular streams/icq channels and then punkbuster sees these and bans innocents for no reason other than their system sucks. Punkbuster as a cure is worse than the disease.

lol i remember a game that was called counter strike  in the years of bata testing and regular playing of this game people said that a server side game can not be hacked and it was impossible to do it  well that was proven wrong and is what killed that game. the bigest joke was we gona use punkbuster to detect hacks lol so many ways around that it was funny.

look at the most recent hack of sony any computer can be hacked the only way it can't be is if it is not connected to any network or internet just a stand alone on a desk

if there is a way to exploit something there is a ton of folks out there that have nothing better to do than try to hack in to it because "they say it cant be done"

and if a dollar can be made from it that is all the better,  and since it is ex- wargamming personnel that have created WARPACK  dont tell me thay dont know the system and program

if you use it so be it if you gotta cheat on a computer game to make your ego feel better fine  i play to have a good time my stats i know are all real not padded or from a use of a cheat program

i only use jimbos mod for the sights because of my bad eyes  i have asked wg to allow players to change color and brightness of the vanilla sights but they never do but will waste time putting snow on a old [edited]map and call it a new map
