Lawl, highest tier tank played is IV and he's telling what Tier VII is like

Lol I totally see why he's complaining then. Highest tank I've played is tier 7, and I used to think the Type 95 was overpowered. But that is just because every time I face one I've always been a lower tier and it seems OP. Though when I thought about it the Type 95 in matches where it's not top tier doesn't seem so OP anymore. It's the same thing with this guy. He more than likely bounces of the T29 all day and for that reason he feels its OP.

I'll admit though, the T29 is really really good, but its the first true american heavy tank. We get a bunch of mediums and 2 submarines (T1 and M6) just to unlock the T29. All I'm saying is we have a tough line and this makes it all worth it. And if the T29 wasn't that good, the US line would absolutely suck.

Not to mention that the Tigers and the IS are also really good tanks, and the KV-3 certainly isn't bad.  Tier 7 is a nice tier for finding nice heavies.

True, the T29 is awesome... Sadly, I'm a avoiding it, except when I have x2 xp, because of the costs to operate it. The repair is high and the shells cost 1000 credits for each one on te 105mm gun

In other words, I'm not being able to afford playing it for the moment hehe... I hate when I end up losing about 8000 credits in one battle.

Really? I'm a non-premium player and I make cash most games. You must be doing it wrong or something. Try not shooting if you know your going to bounce it, and avoid rushing into enemy lines.

Already doing that, I had a game where I got 16k in credits. But I paid 17k for ammo and repairs. 7k for repairs and 10k for ammo (10 shots). Mostly on churchil 7, M4's and AMX.

Wasted shots is the biggest place you lose money.  You fired 10 times but only did damage with 5.  If you didn't have any misses or bounces you would have made over 4k profit.

Yo, have you seen the US line.. The T29 is the reward for going threw the M3 friggen Lee, and 2 submarines. Not to mention its one of our few "good" tanks. US ain't like the German line where you have a bunch of decent tanks with good ones like the KT here and there. We ain't like the Russian line with a lot of good tanks and some decent tanks. No, we get a bunch of bad tanks with a few that can actually stand up to their Tier such as the M4 Sherman and T29. Beside those 2 the US tanks don't get anything that really stands out. This is the only tank we have that has good armor. So just stop complaining and let us have this.

Jumbo is great at its tier too

When I first got the Tiger I, I was a bit shocked that it was not head and shoulders above the rest of the heavy tanks in its tier.  But I don't ever remember having much trouble with T-29's  when facing them with the Tiger. After playing the Tiger I for awhile, as long you play it right - it is truly a deadly opponent and certainly an equal, if not better opponent for other tier 7 tanks.   It is truly an amazing brawler, and can easily tackle 2-3  same tier mediums in a brawl.  The Tiger's ability to outmanuever up close, and higher ROF make it a no brainer choice over the T29 in my book.  The only reason I see to play the T29 is as a grind to something better.

Get your Tiger, Ill get my T-29. Hull down = Tiger toast

If you can point the devs to an actual US heavy tank design that WOULD be equal to the Tiger and IS, I'm sure they'll put it in. What you're doing now though is nothing more than just crying over perceived imbalances, where all three tanks can be used to equal effectiveness.

I would agree here. I own and use the tank and its not godlike...so it can bounce some shells and the turret has great armor thickness...and the gun IS good however here's the other side of things...the tank is slow as shit, turret armor is only effective if you can find a really good hull down position and the shells for the great 105mm gun are 1000 creds a piece...if I get into a really long drawn out battle, even if I kill 5 guys and survive Im only bringing in smidge over 8k creds on a 35k match...because it cost me 20k or so creds to reload...I like the tank alot but I have more fun with my tier 5 m4 sherman...end of story.

--edit--
I feel i should mention, Im certainly not hating on the t29. I seem to have touched on the same points as others..and want to clear the air. I tend to play non premium at the moment due to cost and I know that going premium I would make on average some money or at least break even more often than not. The t29 is just a harder tank to make money on avg than others when non premium but then again that goes without saying because it is tier 7. hence i play my multitude of tier 5s like the sherman where i can average 20k a match after expenses and then blow all that earned income on playing the t29 or my other higher tiered tanks...but most of us all know the routine so im mainly stating this for the ones who dont

I did a breakdown of where the T29 rates out on a ton of different attributes compared to the other tier 7 heavies, and it only came in first or tied for first in a few.  It's win rates are entirely within the norm.

It might be the best tier 7 heavy, but being the best of a "cohort" hardly makes a tank "overpowered".

Agreed. There are some great options for heavy tanks at Tier 7.

Apparently none of you noticed this thread is from 2011?  It's 2013 now?

Let it die already.
