Dance, we have an issue.
I am on the team A Potential Disaster. We were matched against CYA in the playoffs for the Bronze League.
We played a total of 5 games, winning 2 each and drawing 1. After that, there were no more special battles to join.
Could you kindly tell us what is going on? We did not expect that the maximum number of battles would be 5. This is not stated in any of the tournament rules or in any of the forum threads.

Congrats on making it to Bronze!
They will move your team into Bronze League automatically. You can't change the roster until next week. The first week's roster will remain the same. See this thread:

Yes. You and the other 7 teams that lost will be in open along with the other 48 teams that qualified into open already is my understanding.
Thanks Rockstar. By the way, we ran into one of your guys last night. Lakespookie. Real nice guy.
We look forward to playing with you guys in Open and will be in contact with you for scrims and such.

Sounds great man. I look forward to a good season.
First of all, great games all around.
Second of all, "first to 3" means that the first team to achieve 3 victories, wins the round. The actual case, was, it was a best of 5. The next time, you can attempt to let us know the correct round schedule beforehand, instead of [edited]over anyone who bothers to read. That would be nice.

Tie-breaker rules:

Tie-breaker rules:
Thanks, I have read that post by Dance, which appears 2 pages earlier.
The problem with the section you have quoted is that it (1) is clearly labelled "tie-breaker rules", (2) follows a list of the teams playing the tie-breakers, (3) deals specifically with details for the 2 sets of tie-breakers, and (4) makes no mention of the play-off matches at all.
Contrast that approach with what is found on the tournament page, which was careful to state that certain rules apply to both the play-offs and the tie-breakers.
Block Quote
Playoff & Tie Breaker
• The winner of each round is determined as the first to 3 victories.
• Each battle will last 10 minutes max. with a 2 minute break between battles.
• The standard battle mode will be used.
It was definitely a little confusing. The rules quoted (including the language about ties meaning neither team moves on) were also in the special battles text, so we proceeded under that assumption just to be safe (even as we were surpirsed by it), but we weren't sure at all, and I have a hard time imagining WG would carefully set up the number of teams going into each league, only to suddenly allow fewer to make it. Seven teams going through to Bronze instead of eight, for example, would leave an odd number of teams in Bronze and mean byes all over the place.
Then again, who knows?
