Maybe silly question, but when does open league start - I can't seem to find it? Also I am correct that fight will be on Mondays and Fridays?

it starts monday, according to the News and Announcements Thread, if you scroll to the bottom, it says it there. Its true that its not as clear as for the other leagues, but i did find it on my first try.

ninja'd by dance. also, 7:33 PDT? its moved 3 minutes since last season!

Correct. First to 3 does not mean you have 5 battles, and the overall winner goes on. First to 3 means you play until someone wins 3 matches. This was not just confusing, it was downright incorrect. We were told one thing, then the reality was another thing. This was a best of 5, and should have been labeled as such.

See, the problem with saying it's first to 3 wins and not having a battle limit (and this actually happened in Season 1 I believe) is that one team could just end up drawing things out over and over and over and over again. If this happened in the first match of the night, it could result in both teams not being able to play in their next round due in part to them being stuck in an epically long match with one team. There is a battle limitation to ensure that teams don't actually end up playing in around 10-20 matches in one night against the same team.

What you just posted actually supports my interpretation.

Since there were 2 rounds of play-offs for the Open League tie-breakers, it would make sense to impose a time limit for each round (by stipulating a maximum of 5 matches). Otherwise, the second round may never take place on time (or at all).

There was however no such issue for the Bronze League play-offs, since each team only had one opponent that night. There was accordingly no need to limit the maximum number of matches.

Well the issue of the playoff draws has been resolved. GGs to everyone we played, and congrats to everyone who will be playing in open or bronze this season!
