Been playing about week now, got mostly everything figured out.  However what does the orange (!)  that lights up next to the track icon mean? I asked din game and got 3 different answers.

Thank you.

That symbol means your tracks are locked and your hull won't turn as you shift your view.  It comes on automatically in sniper view or you can engage it with the "x" key.

Maybe the devs ought to make it look exactly like a car's parking brake icon since many people seem to be unable to figure it out.

(( ! ))

Just going to summarize what the other posts said, and clarify one thing:

The "!" symbol means that your tracks are locked.
- This happens automatically for Tank Destroyers when you are using sniper (zoomed in) mode.  This does NOT automatically turn on for Self Propelled Guns.
- You can also manually turn it on or off, but only while you are in arcade (not zoomed in) mode by pressing the "X" key.

Its pretty useful to lock your tracks while in arcade mode if you want to look around without blowing your cover.  Moving your hull makes it easier for you to be spotted.
