How will the shuffling of group stage each nite work? will it be based of how a team did the nite before or just random luck of the draw each nite?

That is correct. All WGLNA league pages will soon reinforce this stance against all mods.

Will this include engine/gun sound mods? Or are we talking only XVM, sight mods, etc.?

Or do you want us running COMPLETELY vanilla clients?

A completely vanilla client is required going forward.

This will be enforced how exactly? complaint basis? Does WOT have some kind of super sneaky secret agent software that monitors our clients? Just wondering. Because if it is complaint driven every defeat will warrant a complaint and then how do you prove or disprove mod use?

In the interest of clarity, any team member found to be using a mod will cause the entire team to be DQ'd? from the remainder of the tourney or just that match?

Thanks for your response in advance

Same question as cplmanse1, how will you be enforcing the no mods rule?

they would look at screen shot, replays, and there's a folder that they can look in and it'll show them if you have any mods.  that's how they caught GGWP.  look it up in the gold league forums.

i can understand if you want replays of our matches, but hopefully we wont be expected to take screenshots... I am way too scatterbrained to remember to take a screenshot every time.

I appreciate your answer SGT_STAGGY but I would still like an answer from an admin, even though you may be completely correct.

I assume, that if I have a modded (legal as far as I know, I avoid anything expressly prohibited even in general battles) and install a second "vanilla" client for use in the tournament that it will be OK?

We don't know how they're checking (although I have a pretty good theory, I suspect) and they'd be morons to tell us, because if they did, it'd be easier to get around. Personally, I did a clean install just to be safe. It's probably counterproductive to play with mods in pub matches and without in tourneys anyway...

That is why I was hoping to get an official answer.   For general battles I follow the rules against forbidden mods, and I intend on following the rules during the tourneys as well, I have also informed all my team mates to make sure they have a clean install, but I really don't want to have to be uninstalling and reinstalling all of the time.  WG made mods part of their game and while playing casually I enjoy using some of the "legal" mods.   It is far easier to have a second clean install for tourney use.   That is what I am

intending, I would like an official confirmation that it will be acceptable.

You don't have to uninstall and reinstall the game... you just have to "clear out" your res_mod folder to go "vanilla".

Don't delete it either, just rename the patch# folder (and create an empty new one with the original name) before tourney battles if you want to keep the mods for non-tourney stuff (so you can still have the tank carousel, garage mods, and other things that don't affect gameplay in the least but are still mods).  Just rename both folders post tourney play and your mods are back.

Hopefully WG will continue to incorporate the good ideas of the modding community (they've been slow to adopt many "obvious improvements") so eventually we won't "need" mods anyway (more standard options to give us more control over how things look/operate).
