You don't have to uninstall and reinstall the game... you just have to "clear out" your res_mod folder to go "vanilla".
Don't delete it either, just rename the patch# folder (and create an empty new one with the original name) before tourney battles if you want to keep the mods for non-tourney
I was considering this approach, and it will probably work, but after I did it I noticed that there were some files from mods in other locations. Not wanting to take the chance, I did a clean re-install to go completely vanilla.
The garage mods are nice, but not essential, and I decided that if I'm going to play modless in the League, I might as well get used to it all the time. I wouldn't want to come to rely on some mod in pubs, only to fail because of that in a critical moment during a League match.
Different players approach it differently... I know gold league players that run mods in pub matches, going vanilla as required, and I know gold league players that go vanilla all the time so they're used to it.

Don't delete it either, just rename the patch# folder (and create an empty new one with the original name) before tourney battles if you want to keep the mods for non-tourney stuff (so you can still have the tank carousel, garage mods, and other things that don't affect gameplay in the least but are still mods). Just rename both folders post tourney play and your mods are back.
Hopefully WG will continue to incorporate the good ideas of the modding community (they've been slow to adopt many "obvious improvements") so eventually we won't "need" mods anyway (more standard options to give us more control over how things look/operate).
I used this method as I have a bandwidth cap that I get really close to each month (and I dont want the wife to take my cartoon tanks away) :)

Let's just cut it clear for the mods ban: best way to protect yourself is to run vanilla, push your team to do the same and enable the replay feature in case you are requested by an admin to do so.
Personally, I like my mods, but I totally agree with the fact that a vanilla setting will put everybody on a fair ground, and I can only hope every team and every team member will be honest and will run vanilla.
Any way, good luck to everyone, seems like there is a ton of teams pending approval right now. (108 to be precise)
News reports indicate that there is a heavy risk of shelling over Himmelsdorf tonight.

Exact same issue, I can't really fully download the game again at home. I even move updates back and forth on a thumb drive, download the update at the office then install at home.
I did rename and recreate Res_Mods (had to figure out the folder issue on my own, but it works). I can show replays upon request showing a vanilla client, Res_Mods is pure, but I do worry some mod stuck a file somewhere that I didn't get rid of.

We can't disclose exact details for obvious reasons. Simply put, don't use mods if you're intent on participating throughout the entire season.

Ok, So if my team qualifies for the open, Will I have to remake the team or is it automatically put into the Open Tournament?
Also, Will I be able to make roster changes between the Qualifier and the First fight of the Open Tournament (I have some inactives to be replaced)?

You will not need to remake your team, we will move it to the Open League for you.
Teams are able to start making roster changes on June 12th. That means the first day that rosters will be changed will be a week later, on June 19th (before the June 20th battles).

To get rid of mods easily and be able to restore them later, install JSGME. Its a great little app that has been around for years.
You set it up with all the mods you usually use, and another 'mod' called 'Vanilla' that is just a res_mods folder with nothing but an empty 0.9.0 folder in it.
Then using JSGME you can easily select any combination of mods, or select Vanilla.
