I don't see why everyone is upset it's just a Type 59 now if they where giving away Fireflys then yeah break out the pitch forks and torchs

Its not that. Its about lying to people. I wasted 5 hours watching load of crap only to get nothing. I wont waste my time tomorrow because it is rigged.

Frankly I didn't bother with the whole stream. Not because I didn't want a Type, but due to the fact that it was mind-numbingly boring. Watching Rampage and a couple of other WG employees play like pubbies and make horrible sub 48% mistakes in IS-3's is only entertaining for so long.

On the note of the Type, it was roughly a 1 in 10,000 chance of winning one. I'm not going to sit around and waste 6 hours to have a 1 in 10,000 chance for what equates to ~$35, no matter how much I want one. Now, if WG were reasonable and actually offered the Type as a realistic prize (instead of hilariously slim chances), I might participate. Perhaps if they brought back the weekly All-Star contests and awarded a 3 Types every week (instead of the old 3x 10k prizes), I might give it a shot. On that note, those were good times. I was consistently hauling in 10k gold a week, and I ended up milking ~$350 in gold over the course of the All-Star events. Too bad WG became increasingly frugal, to the point that we no longer see nice little contests.

Lying?  Where did they promise that you'd get prizes?  You just get a chance to win.

Turns out that the prize codes for the t shirts were a gimmick. The only response to the question of why the codes were invalid was an ambiguous "It's for the first people only" and then full radio silence. Absolutely no mention of where to use the codes or for what purpose. I call [edited].

The proper way that WG could have avoided any type of hints or slurs about them rigging the give aways were for them to only allow one win per person/participant, when they allow a person to win more than one item within a days time, whether its rigged or not, it tends to smell a little funny to the masses....with the way it ended up with one person winning two Type 59's....I have to agree, it smells pretty bad.  In fact it downright stinks!

That didn't happen.  Literally.  Didn't.  Happen.  Check page 3.

I'd just like to see the Terms and Conditions. Every legal contest or giveaway has these posted somewhere on the announcement page. These were not present for this contest, and frankly this reeks of bait and switch.

Lert.

Do you really think you're still a "community contributor"?  You certainly don't seem deserving of that title to me.  Have you considered what those two words put together mean any time lately?  I'm sorry, but maybe you should remove them.

Hey guys,

Just to clear it up, nobody won two Type 59's. The player you mentioned won one Type 59 and a Gold/Credit/Premium code. With a few hundred prizes given out today on the stream, the chances of someone winning some prize twice are actually quite higher than the odds you're giving.

There is no rigging in the drawings on stream, they are indeed random (I'm sitting right next to the guys that are drawing the winners, and can vouch for them).

-Hyp

Being first doesn't make you an instant winner. It is done randomly from the group of replies.

One that is actually random.

LOL really?  The truth is written on the wall.

So, the stream had about 11K watchers max.  So, assuming everyone watching was following and posting to win, that makes the odds of winning a Type 1/11000.  The odds of winning a second type is 1/11000.  So, 6 possible chances equals about 3/12100000 of getting two types.

Or, still better than powerball.

EDIT: cross-posted with someone who knows what going on.  Guess that settles the question of "How did someone win two Types"

They didn't

Actually there was only 11k viewers for a short period ~1hr it ran most of the stream with 9k viewers, now from those 9k viewers how many of them were logged in to twitch? lets say 7k, from those 7k how many of them were interacting with the stream and answering/repeating what was required? my guess is half or so of them..... sp 3500-4k.

I'm pretty sure they gave out 7 or 8 Types.

Yeah, just working out a "lowest-odds" scenario.  Main point I'm trying to make is "low-odds" doesn't equal "can't happen."

I mean, even if they gave out 80 Types at once, removing the chance for someone to win twice, the odds of winning one is around 1~2%.  Folks getting worked up over not winning something is a bit silly at that point.

The only thing that interested me was the interview with the Chieftain other than that I did want a type 59 but I knew I wasn't going to win. Maybe they will bring it back one day when they want to have a major influx of cash.

Retired Marine job hunting, interviews with a personnel manager for the first time after retiring:

Personnel Manager:  "What do you think your biggest weakness is?"

Marine:  "Honesty"

Personnel Manager:  "I don't think honesty is a weakness."

Marine:  "I don't give a crapwhat you think!"

....and so it goes

guise ... calm down

this is easily explainable

they are using the RNG algorithm to choose winners

now it is perfectly understandable, right ... we all know how random RNG is

I'm always in awe of how mad people get over these things.  I didn't win at tonks ergo MM is rigged.  WG hates me personally.  I didn't win at Type 59 giveaway ergo drawing is rigged.  WG hates me personally.  Just who are all these VIPs and why does WG so vehemently hate them?
