AT-1 is awesome, su- 18 and 26 great... bt-2 is ok, t-26 meh, t-46 bt-7 su-76 get in battle, go get a drink and alt tab watch porn... hell anything would be more productive than actually playing those tanks... every thread on them you find says pretty much yeah they suck but if you suffer through them you get xyz and finally have fun and if you use this one particular tactic you will get better exp to get through them faster.... if no one sneezes on you and the planets align so your shot doesnt bounce.

Something is wrong when it seems everyone hates particular tanks. I am starting to wonder if I shouldnt have gone german or usa instead now, being that I dont plan on buying premium not going to play is7  so not really worth sticking russian out.

Some tanks suck, that's why it's called "grind".  BT-7, A-20, T1 Heavy, M3 Lee, I hated them.  Want a good tier 4, grab the t-28 and equip the 57mm.  It's a glass cannon, so hang back and snipe from the safety of cover.

Things get awesome at tier 5.

Eh...tier 3 for ALL nations kinda of suck because of the matchmaker and the way its setup, has nothing to do with russians. Tier 3 is not mid tier either its still low tier..

With pretty much every tank you get people who love it and people who hate it. Interestingly enough, while you say the BT-2 sucks, many people love the hell out of it. The SU-76 is awesome - I still have mine.

If you can't adapt to new tanks with different playstyles then the game will be frustrating for you. I had a similar experience with the T-46 until I learned to play it.

Nothing is wrong - this is called 'differences in opinion, and in play styles'. Over in the german and american forums you will find threads that say pretty much the same thing, only reversed in opinion. "OMFG german tanks suck, I shoulda gone russian or USA", and "God, american tanks blow, I should have played german or russian.".

Personally, I hated the T46 so much I sold it AND it's gold-trained crew, because nothing I seemed to do made any difference in my success, and I figured I didn't want such an unlucky crew contaminating my other vehicles. It just didn't work for me at all. It was so bad, I half expected my team to suicide when they saw me on their roster. I had a guy ask me 'Pek, which way you going, I wanna follow and get my lulz". Same for the SU-100...some guys love it and do well, but I had an incredibly bad string of games in it so I sold the tank and sent the crew off to the infantry.

On the other hand, I kicked ass in the BT2, BT7, SU76 when I had them. I still kick ass in them when I want to pick up some convertable XP quick and easy. Remember that for the most part, they try to model the game tanks on the real world ones...and some of those real world tanks did, in fact, suck at what they were intended to do. That's why they were replaced/upgraded. Some players figure out a way to make the real/crappy tank into a game/playable one....and some don't. I just read a thread this morning, where some guy professes his undying love for the T-44...a russian medium that is generally considered a rolling bonfire, one of those tanks you have to suffer through to get to the T-54. But for his style of play, it is the Best Tank Ever....(shrug)....go figure.

Play the tanks you like, don't play the tanks that you don't like. The russians (like the germans and americans) have some really good vehicles in the mid tiers. You just have to find one that fits your play style - and your expectations.

Actually, I hated the M3 Lee, A-20 and T1-Heavy (hate it even more because I had to sufer through the Lee to get it).

I have my greatest fun with T34-85 and M37 and M7 Priest US arty.
My KV is meh... (although I haven't grind the resources yet to upgrade it. I hope it gets better once I do).
Yesterday I bought a hetzer (German TD) and it´s actually fun to play it too.

I figured the T34-85 (mid) has the same 660 HP as the KV (a heavy) and can use almost the same guns.
But the t34-85 is faster and manuverable as the KV, that's why I like it so much.

But I have fellows on my clan that turned the T1-Heavy into a killing maschine. Heck even ppl who enjoyed the Lee. Go figure...

My first while playing I honestly didn't enjoy any tank until I got into a KV. I did love the Marder II but we're talking tanks. It's personal style I think as people rave about one tank and I find it awfull. The T-28 for example people told me all the fun they had with it when it was the most hatefull tank I drove. However I have also found that my lack of experince with the game played into it. I have gone back and played through some tanks after release and really enjoyed them compared to the first time. The Hetzer comes to mind, that thing with the 105mm is alot of fun  :Smile-izmena:

I've elited this tank and drive it every day. Someone isn't doing it right!

I can say that as a new player, going up through the german line, the only tank I have felt isn't severely undergunned so far is the Panzer II, which I also found very enjoyable.  I am only through the Panzer 4 and have some hopes for the high pen 75mm gun on that vehicle, but my real hopes start on the VK 3601.  That's not that I don't enjoy playing some of those tanks, just that I find them very difficult compared to say.... the tank destroyer line, which is fabulous for the Germans.  Then again, I think I really started to figure out how to play the Panzer III against the heavier, higher tier tanks just as I was getting ready to move onto the Panzer IV.  The truth is, some tanks are lemons, some playing styles are lemons for the tank, and some are golden.

The BT-7 is hard to play because you're in a light playing with heavies... practically everybody on the field except some arty can take like 5 shots at least from your cannon before popping, and that's on a good day.  On the flip side, it's damn fast and better armored than the BT-2.
I'm not sure what you're doing wrong with the SU-76... that's the tank that I do the best with out of all I've got right now.  Yes, a 2-year-old with a spitball could penetrate that poor excuse for armor, and you need to be very careful when engaging heavies... but the gun is pretty powerful and aims in 1.5 seconds.  Plus it hides well.
