yes, but look at T-34-3.

look at Super P

now look at the tier 8 prem heavys. these are competitive for thier tier.  and capable at tier 9 and 10 (T34 and Lowe)

the meds suck against anything tier 8 or higher. they are only good against tier 7s and lower. which is kinda hard for a tier 8 tank taking up a tier 8 spot.

A few vehicles have been removed from the game gift shop and in game purchase simply because, on average, they ‘over perform’ when matched into their own tier, but don’t scale well into higher tier games. It’s unlikely that they will ever return to the Gift Shop.

  • Type 62 Chinese Tier VII Light Tank

*le sigh* And here I was hoping we could get a light tank crew trainer premium again that matched the crew setup of the 59-16, WZ-131, and the WZ-132.

Curse you, random radio operator on the Type 64.

1.  Because it moves more slowly than a heavy.  2. No.  No it's not.  Even qualified with the comparison, the SP's armor is only fantastic if you use the word to mean that it is effectively a fantasy.  I can pen one from any angle with my T20.

PS: Sell the Type 59!

What he said.

FTR just put up a translated Russian poster celebrating the fourth anniversary of WoT (linky).  One of the bullet points of that WG produced piece of marketing:

"- current number of vehicles in the game is 350 (compared to 136 in 2011)"

The last time the Type 59 was sold there was no Chinese line on the tech tree.  Given a choice between buying it, and a tank I could get increased income out of, and train crews in, I made the logical choice.  I knew the Chinese line was planned, and figured I could buy one later.  (Cue Jeopardy fail music.)

Will putting it back in flood the servers with them?  Yes, probably - for a short while.  But with more than twice the number of other tanks to choose to play, the idea that the servers will be swarming with hordes of 3 Type 59 platoons for months on end doesn't have a lot going for it.

Can someone post the Fry "Shut up and take my money!" gif for me please?  Thanks!

agreed and agreed

i would love a Type 59. but at the same time i like T-34-3.

T-34-3 just needs a buff to accuracy, rof, and it would be perfect.

I think WG should put the type 59 on sale, even if its only for a day or a weekend. This will give us the chance to get a true prem med tank. And for those complainers who missed it...well then, its their fault.

Regarding the Type 59, here is my two cents, and again, this is my opinion. I have a pal who let me play it while I was at his place, being a decent T34-3 user, I felt the tank wouldn't be new to me. I used it as cautiously as I would a T-34-3 to increase my survivability, plus seeing as the Type is bouncier than the T-34-3, things should work out. After 15 games total I realized that the Type wasn't for me, I think people put this tank on a pedestal, yes the increased credit income was nice, but other than that, I'd lean towards the T-34-3, fits my play style with mediums a little better.

Don't get me wrong, I had a blast in that thing, bounced some shells which I was sure would pen, but in the end I ask all of you longing for the Type 59, is your desire somewhat influenced by the inability to acquire the tank?

Back onto the topic, seeing as the new set of patches are for in-game fixes/maps/graphics/models etc (and no new tree lines), I'd really like to see an increase in new premium tanks. As mentioned before, my wallet is wide open WG, I haven't bought anything in a while because I don't feel the need to at this point in time, thus what I put aside for my gaming expenses each month has somewhat piled up, meaning, if you build it, I will pay...

(If anything is misspelled or has bad grammar, I apologize, I just woke up and working on my first cup of coffee, cheers!)

Maybe a little, but not much.  I get that it's not the massive OP monster it used to be, but it's one of "those" tanks, the ones that no matter where or when I run into them, no matter how much I memorize their weakspots, I just have a hard time fighting against them.  The first was the Pz 38H.  I bought it as soon as I saw it for sale.  Now there's way too much at tier 1 and 2 that can easily get into the armor, but when I first started, there wasn't.  The second was the VK 36.01 H.  This was back when it was a medium.  I got that thing, it was my favorite Tier 6 medium.  Just beastly.  Of course, it's dead now.

That's why I want a Type 59, because I want the opportunity to be able to cause the frustration I've experienced.  I know it won't be there immediately, I'll still have to learn how to play the tank well.

Type 59 now is just a "I have a type 59 and you don't, I'm better!" that's why everyone wants one, or they can't understand that it got thrown across parking lot then driven off a cliff into hot magma for the nerf.

the thing is, i compare the Type 59 to my T-34-3

Type 59 has 7 gun depression.

T-34-3 has 3 *aka none*

Type 59's gun has 181 pen and 240 dmg. i've used it on my WZ-131 and i love it

T-34-3 has 175 pen and 390 dmg. it might be good, but i dont have the gun depression to use it. the accuracy and rof prevents me from using it long range as well

both have great turrets, speed, camo, traverse.

Type 59 seems to have a better hull, but its mostly legend. truth is its hull will only stop guns with 175 or less pen.  T-34-3 will stop 150 or less(unless majorly angled). nonethe less in a 1 on 1 fight between these 2, T-34-3 loses

Type 59 has enough side armor to sidescrape in some situations.

T-34-3 has none and will often be autopenned by people using the 152mm.

so in the end, the reason Type 59 is seen as legendary and the T-34-3 is seen as crap.  is the Type 59 has gun depression, and T-34-3 doesn't (tier 8 chinese tanks ALL have 5 gun depression. including the 110. only 2 exceptions are Type 59 and T-34-3)

i would compare Type 59 to Super P.  but Type 59 is better in EVERY way to Super P.

T-34-3 is tied with Super P for no reason other than the gun depression (you hit a single rock and you lose all aim)

lmbo.. SuperPershing was taken off the shelf because it was NERFed so hard it ruined the tank and WG "gave" players gold for it.  Now it's back on "sale".  I bought one because I like to be challenged... which is a kindly way to put that I made a very bad choice.

M4 M6 and PzV/IV were all on sale at one point on the NA server ( bought a V/IV myself ) then from my understanding EU server whiners had WG stop selling them.

Never seen an A-32 that I recall so with that "much" market penetration I don't understand why you don't put em up for sale again... I assume ticking off..... well no-one ..... will impact the game ...... well in no way I assume

the tier 1-2 gifts I can see for long time playing the game.... given I have em all.... yet never seen a prepackage order,,,, nor seen any of the gift packs that even today are on sale for the RU servers..... well I see we get treated the same... so no BT-SV or Pz2J ( well unless u pay about $400 on ebay)

Sales of the KV-220 well seem to  be openly contradicting the argument that its a beta gift and thus should be rare as its a beta tank that.... well was a gift... yet it goes on sale ???

As others have mentioned here already..... the SU-85I has been on sale for a while now.... but I guess your paying attention to what gets sold where well ???

PzIV H - was a jinx gift for buying swag ( basically a 100% marked up mouse ).

The alpha version of the KV-220 is different. KV-220 vs KV-220a

My Type 59 is my favorite tank of all time. I bought it for $27 back in the 2011-2012 Christmas season, right AFTER the nerf. It came with a gold and premium time package included in that price.

I never got to play it pre-nerf, but I can tell you that this tank is the absolute best tier 8 medium in the game, and I can easily make 90-110k credits with it if I concentrate on staying alive. It doesn't have a single thing it's bad at except sniping, and can even do that in a pinch.

I hope they never put it back on sale, because the really good T-54 players would pick this up and absolutely bring down the whole game with it.

I think WG is a bit timid to release a medium that plays like a true medium (Type 59 for example) because true medium tanks are so versatile and that is what makes them so dangerous.

It gets compared to a heavy because it has the speed of one, to the point where you are basically forced to play it as such. The SP is a one trick pony, and that trick is fairly decent frontal armor. The sides are paper and the gun is pretty anemic for a tank with an almost total inability to flank (keystone of mediums, fyi). If you fire tons of gold and have a keen ability for hull down play it is usable, but that is not really saying a hell of a lot when the other tier 8 premiums are almost all significantly superior.

Also the Type 59 is not really OP but it is still pretty damn good for a pref 8 tank. Much better than -34-3 if not just for the gun depression and more flexible gun. It is a blast to play because unlike most of the other tier 8s it is not slow, and it tends to bounce enough that you can play aggressive Soviet style with it. WG has something up their rear about premium mediums for some reason, but at this point it probably could be sold again balance wise. The only fear is that if it is available there will be a swarm of them again, and that would in all honesty be a giant pain in the [edited]until it subsided.
