New Map: Mannerheim Line

Because a majority of the WoT population is on the forums and does not read his blog, I would just like to highlight important aspects of information from his blog occasionally.
There's going to be a new map, called Mannerheim Line. The Mannerheim Line was a defensive fortification line on the Karelian Isthmus built by Finland against the Soviet Union. During the Winter War of 1939-1940 it became known as the Mannerheim Line, after Field Marshal Baron Carl Gustaf Emil Mannerheim. The line was constructed in two phases: 1920–1924 and 1932–1939.
It's planned to be in the 6.5 update.

So there you have it.
Personal Opinion?
Wargaming is making WoT maps more tactical and diverse, with more attack and defense styles, instead of doing the regular "there's only 3 ways to attack" and the boring symmetrically maps that don't look real. Westfield, Steppes, Mountain Pass, and Mannerheim Line are examples of what I call "tactical maps". Campinovka is not what I call something tactical.
What are your opinions?

You think too much, because of the size limitations of the game engine all maps are three ways to attack. Limited battle objectives means there is only three ways. Until the devs offer respawn and attrition objectives there will only ever be three ways.

This is correct. Given the scale, you pretty much are heading straight in or taking one of the flanks. The maps aren't large enough to split the difference and come a "fourth" way.

There's a difference between having 3 options only and having a small map. In many of the maps you have 3 choke points, at least one of which absolutely must be crossed in order to attack an enemy map. With maps like Steppes, you may have an idea of the general location, but it's a far wider range of options, so you can't just hide a snipe a specific spot.

Looks epic! Does the snow slow tanks down? That would be awesome if it did.

Love the look of that map !!!! I see WOT is finally becoming the game we hoped it would become with 6.4 working very well (minus the lag issues) and the new steppes and mountain pass maps (love the waterfall btw). Can't wait for the future updates. Keep up the good work guys +1 from me

But will it blend?....just kidding!
Anyway, those maps look really sweet and wish they finally add snow effects to compliment that weather.

Hopefully they leave out (some of) the dragons teeth and anti-tank trenches or it will be the worst camp-fest ever.

I just hope the map has few to none cover so it became a true frontal slugfest not a "reserving camping position" map as mountain pass or even steppes.

Awesome! Looks great and nice to see them adding a map from the lesser-known Winter War/Continuation War.

Slowing down?? I'd like to see some skidding going on when trying to stop... remember in Germany back in '87-'91 our M1's would turn into bob-sleds on the snow... 60tons compressing it into ice... makes it a tad tricky to stop on a dime sometimes... lol...
DO love the look of the map tho' and can't wait till it's added to the lineup...

Like the ideas of new maps as well. I wonder if tanks leave tracks in the snow?...hmmmmm
My ideas for new maps:
1- U-Boat City Base (Port City Map) France ~1940
2- Beach, Hedgerows and Fields (France) (Slightly post D-Day 1944 Map)
3- City Maps (Fog, Low Lighting, Night time) - Due to the fact that Night Observation Devices (NODs) did not exists WWII era then you need to be creative such as city on fire at night to provide some lighting.

The map looks great. I my self am looking forward to having a battle on a snow covered map. I think that WOT should have more variety like that.

It's awesome that you include Finnish tank battles in your game, although they didn't have any tank to tank battles in the Mannerheim Line. First (and the biggest) tank fight in the Winter War was in Honkaniemi area (~15 km south-east from Viipuri), where 13 Finnish Vickers 6-ton tanks got beaten up by 58 Soviet tanks. After that there were only 2 smaller tank battles, also near Viipuri.
But don't think I don't appreciate your work. I think this Mannerheim Line looks "more Finnish" than that Karelia map. If there will be more maps from Finland, I suggest making a map from the battle of Portinhoikka roadcross. That was the biggest tank battle in Finland's World War 2 battles.
