Hey folks,

I've taken a liking to first-person (sniper) mode for everything but the closest-range fights, but it's tough when you're using autocannons. Each shot seems to kick the turret back a little, so the longer the burst, the more wildly inaccurate it gets. It seems that guns like the TNSH or KwK 38 L/55 (20mm) are therefore not really able to hit, except with the first shot. With the slower-firing weapons like the Flak 38 KwK L/112 at least it's easier to correct, so not only the first but also the last two shots can hit.

Am I doing something wrong here? Or is it just the nature of the beast, that rapid-fire weapons (>100rpm) are hard to use?

You can turn that off in the "options"

In settings you can disable the camera kick-back effect that happens when you fire.

Say what?

I certainly hope that you disable the camera effect, but not the shell scatter.  Sounds a lot like cheating if it suddenly makes you super accurate...

Well like I said it disables the camera kick-back effect lol. The lost of accuracy that happens when guns fire still happens but there's no camera recoil when you do. The camera kick-back effect did help decrease accuracy by making the turret move so indirectly it will help increase accuracy. The reason for adding the ability to disable it was because it is a client-side effect and cheaters are already able to disable it before the chat.

I found that starting my aim low and allowing the recoil to walk the shots up the tank works best for me.

Yea since 6.4 you can turn the 'visual kick' off when you fire, and if yur in sniper mode while driving then stop, theres n shaking. The actual recoil is still there. As mentioned, from range with an AC just aim near the bottom and it will walk up and maybe get 2 hits in. AC are mostly used for up close fights where they will do some serious damage. At range they are accurate enough to plink away. PZ 2 would be more accurate for the ranging, while M2 medium is great if you want to get up close with it. Both very fun tanks, with different playstyles.

The only thing that is turned off is the EXTRA effects of being in sniper mode. The shaking exists for "immersion", but it has the side effect of gimping you when you use sniper mode.
