Pretty nice tank.. as long  as your not the driver. The driver got shafted badly. And why was the speed meter with the tc? Is that normal for that tanks?

Probably an afterthought, added where it could be. The tach is more important to the driver than the speedo anyhow.

Engine oil temp goes from -5 to 15? Also, could it be possible to pull both sticks at once to engage the planetary gearset on both sides, and so briefly pop into a lower gear?

Another great video. Information not available on the internet until now.

Encourage your friends to watch and post a reply on these videos.

The Chieftain needs as much community support he can get.

Keep em coming!

It's probably available on the internet somewhere, just not necessarily in English!

The location of the speedo is rather surprising. Loading shells into the tank also does not look fun.

Nah you cruse the tank designer that had the brilliant idea of all those fuel's inside the tank, bail out if possible and thank the tank designer that thought all those escape hatch's or you try to put the fire out and succeed or you dont and you die a horrible death..

As for the shell's i would hate to drop it inside the tank/ on my own foot. (Tho being around 6'3-6'4 i doubt i would be having a good time in that tank any how)

Emotional event was a reference to a prior Chieftain's Hatch video and discussion.... Was just giving a nod to that prior video...

Terrific stuff.  The ISU-152 really was a fantastic vehicle.

Great video, thank you Chieftain.

I have a minor nitpic, though.

A-19 is not a howitzer, it a gun.

Especially in that application, since there's no access to the upper register.

I met The Chieftain at the meet-n-greet in Nokesville,VA recently.  Not having watched any of the videos, he was just some tall guy in a black hat, with an English accent.

Now, I have started to watch some of these videos, and I already have a request, since I saw the ISU 152 series.

There is a video on YouTube about an ISU-152 in the Ukraine, and the local townies and their mechanics show up and get this thing started after what looks like a days effort, from generators to fuel pumps, etc.  In the end, it starts, and they can only get to to move from the 65 year resting spot in reverse.  Once out of the track holes, it moves around just fine, after all that time!

Well, I would like to ask The Chieftain to go find this ISU-152, and see if you can do a story about it?  I mean, how often do we find a big tank, deserted in a village, next to a public school, and then the locals can get it started?  What a story, and I would like to know more...

Thanks,

David
