Desertion Discipline System FAQs

1. How does it work?

A. The long answer is to read this knowledgebase here: Desertion Discipline System.

The short answer is the game will now warn you for leaving a battle early or being inactive in the battle.

2. How many warnings do I get before I get banned?

A.You have to get several warnings in a row before our system automatically suspends your account.

3.What if I disconnect from the game due to internet, hardware, or bug issues?

A. If you disconnect, just reconnect to get back in the match. Reconnections will not be counted against you. If you are unable to reconnect, you will receive a warning, but you shouldn’t be concerned for just a single warning. It is only once a pattern of disconnecting is established that a punishment is given.

4. What if I want/need to leave a match?

A. We understand life happens and sometimes priorities take over and the match has to wait. This is why you must have a number of Warnings on your account before a suspension is due. If you leave a match, we suggest you complete your next match as it will help decrease your internal Warning rating. Think of it like the team damage system, if you hit an ally; just try not to during the next match.

5. What if I play a match as an SPG and I am unable to hurt enemies or move much?

A. There are some instances where an opportunity for damage just does not present itself. In these instances, you may find yourself with a Warning at the end of the battle. This Warning will be just that, a warning to let you know you did not participate actively in the battle. Repeatedly being inactive could result in a suspension on your account, but please be aware that this is rare. If you acquire several Warnings while playing an SPG, you may want to try a different vehicle for a couple of matches.

6. My system keeps crashing and I keep getting warned. Can’t this be removed?

A. If your system keeps crashing when you play World of Tanks, you may need to send in a Tech Support Ticket in order for us to help you troubleshoot the issue. It would be better to nip the problem in the bud as opposed to disconnecting repeatedly.  It hurts your team if you disconnect, unless you are able to reconnect back into the battle even if it is unintentional on your part. Unfortunately, your current internal Warning rating cannot be removed.

Pigeon thanks for the info.  Any word on progress of the self-destruction part of this that was buggy (and removed) that is being re-worked?

Frankly, I don't believe this information is correct.  I've had battles where I sat in the back in my slow, unmanueverable td, and have NEVER gotten a warning.  Never fired a shot, and didn't move much at all.  Seems like you guys aren't really sure how this system actually works, or if it even does work.

Now I know I am going to be negged for this even though it is a legitimate question. Why are you forcing the newbies who suck with artillery but are trying to start this game going down those lines and only those lines to have even more reasons to quit? I was teaching my nephew to play the game, he is eight, and he found that he loves artillery. He has trouble with focusing on one spot of the map because he has ADHD. He recieved two warnings in a row once because RNG literally screwed his shots and a second because of his ADHD. I know this will help against botters but just like the arty team damage handicap you really should take into account that there are new people playing your game that want to go for arty and nothing else till they get high enough in that tree.

Also, why don't you just have the guys lock the return to garage battle until you die. Problem solved. (Mostly)

Posting so I can find and quote this later.

Tired of seeing 7 topics a day about "I got dropped from a game and got a warning!!1! WG fix the broken system!?!!"

People can't seem to figure out what a warning is, and how it's different from a punishment...

Oh, they know...they just want to be able to bot their way to tier 10 instead of actually playing legit...I like this new system and it would be nice if wargaming could do even more to remove some of the "bot" players from the matches...

You shouldn't be trying to damage allies....

There have been multiple complaints/Forums of people reconnecting and getting this warning.

You misunderstand the purpose of this post.  There are several posts a day where players voice this as a concern. I've not seen one yet where the player said they got a warning for doing so.  IMHO, they are just searching for excuses why the system is faulty, when it works just as well as the team damage/TK system.

This policy is the greatest thing since sliced bread.  Definitely a change for the better.

And not one where they were banned for it.

As the policy says, they will receive a warning.

Now a workaround with this is, you just drive to the enemy and die as quickly as possible. If you are in a T95..tough luck find a pool of water and suicide. System wont punish for suicide yet. But try running into enemy first, you wont get warning (or punish) for that.

Suicide is still against the rules.
