If you are under your tanks weight limit will it increase your tanks acceleration or anything? I play a light tank and I take advantage of my maneuverability a lot so I'm just wondering if I'll get any advantage for not having the heaviest armor or something like that.

Just upgrade your tank as far as you can, I think lower weights correspond to higher speeds and acceleration, but don't skimp on upgrades just to get that miniscule boost.

Having significant weight increases will decrease a tanks acceleration. The most obvious one can be seen on the Panzer IV and 3002 DB's Schmalturm upgrades. Of course, sometimes it is worth it (Panzer IV), and some not (DB).

Ok. I was just looking at the M5 Stuart tank between two turrets.

The one I currently have is Turret M44 with 44/32/32 armor, 46 traverse speed, 300 view range, and 1200 weight.

The Turret M7 (the upgraded one) has less armor (38/25/25), turns slightly faster (50), sees a little farther (420) and weighs more (1350)

I just wasn't sure which I should use. I use the "circle of death" a lot and the turret keeps of the my turning more often then not. And obviously more armor is better so I'm not sure if its worth actually using the upgraded turret or not. I mean the extra sight would be helpful but I almost NEVER stop moving so I'll run into them sooner or later and meanwhile they will have trouble hitting me.

So what do you guys think? I mean less armor and weighs more but has farther view, that is about the only real benefit that I can think of.

Upgraded turret has better sight, you're a scout most of the time anyway so that's useful. Plus you can mount the 75mm howitzer.

OP, you are correct that heavier weight does slow you down. A tank's performance is determined largely by its power to weight ratio - divide the engine HP by the weight.

I add that the capacity of the suspension does not affect performance, only the tonnage/hp ratio
