WGLNA Open Cup Rules & Regulations:

By participating in the WGLNA Open Cup, you agree to abide by all rule sets, regulations, and administrative rulings.


Team captains are responsible for their team’s conduct and complete understanding of rules.

 

WGLNA Settings

Standard WGLNA Open Cup Settings

  1. Game Mode:  Dual-Cap Attack/Defense mode
  2. Team Size: 7 vs 7; 7 participants and 3 reserve players
  3. Victory Conditions:
    1. Teams will play all teams within their group.
    2. Teams will play 2 battles during each round.
    3. Teams will alternate between Attacker and Defender between battles within a round.
    4. Teams earn 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw and 0 points for a loss.
  4. Battle duration: Each battle lasts a maximum of 7 minutes and considered a draw if no winner is found within the time limit.
  5. Cup Points: The top teams in each Cup tournament will earn Cup points. At the end of the season, the teams with the most Cup points will participate in a Playoff.
  6. Substitutions: Players may be substituted freely between battles within a round based on active roster
  7. Schedule: Each Cup lasts for 2 weeks. The number of Cup tournaments will vary depending on the length of the season.
  8. Special Restrictions: 
    1. A team must use 7 tanks to access 54 available tier points. A team with less than 7 tanks decreases their available tier points by 7 for every missing vehicle.
    2. Teams are allowed to only use two tank compositions to reach 54 tier points:
      1. Five Tier 8 tanks and two Tier 7 tanks
      2. Six Tier 8 tanks and one Tier 6 tank
    3. Teams lose 7 points for each missing player:
      1. Team of 6 players: Five Tier 8 tanks and one Tier 7 tank
      2. Team of 5 players: Five Tier 8 tanks
    4. The use of any mod is expressly prohibited in WGLNA. Standard “vanilla” game clients are required of all league participants.

 

Participation Requirements

  1. WGLNA Open Cup play is exclusively for teams not participating in any Wargaming.net league in any region.
  2. A team must have at least 7 and no more than 10 members.
  3. To qualify for cumulative Cup points, a team must keep the same name and retain 50% + 1 players from the previous week.
  4. Players are only allowed to participate in the WGLNA Open Cup or one League across all regions.

 

Team names

  1. Team names must adhere to game and forum rules.
  2. Team names violating game or forum rules may result in league disqualification and include game bans.
  3. League admins reserve the right to edit team names.

 

During the Round

  1. Ensure that replays are being saved to your replays folder for documenting your battles.
  2. League admins may request replays at any time during the round.
  3. Use screenshots as supporting documentation when necessary.
  4. Send a forum PM to league admins for immediate concerns.

 

Remakes & Server Issues

A server issue is any instance where the server is unable to correctly deliver the special battle for the round.

  1. If server issues cause a missed round, the round will be rescheduled by league admins according to the season schedule. Visit the WGLNA Open Cup’s News & Announcements thread for the latest information.
  2. Teams must allow up to 30 minutes for a scheduled round to initiate. If the match remains missing after 30 minutes, the round will be rescheduled for another league day.
  3. Map settings cannot be adjusted once a special battle initiates. Whichever map loads for the special battle is the map that must be played with points contributing to overall standings.

 

Streaming

  1. All teams agree to have their matches streamed during any regularly scheduled battle.
  2. Specific tournament and streaming rules will be provided to team captains in advance of the stream.

 

Other Warnings and Disqualifications

All penalties may take into account the severity of the violation, resulting in greater consequences.

  1. Teams can be disqualified from WGLNA Open Cup for unsportsmanlike conduct including, but not limited to, foul language, racism, profanity, disrespect of an official, streamer or caster.
  2. Teams can be disqualified for intentionally use any prohibited bugs, exploits, hacks or are found to be utilizing unfair methods of competition by WGLNA administration.

 

Disputes

A dispute is a claim against an illegitimate result by an opponent’s violation of WGLNA rules.

 

Disputes must adhere to the protocol detailed below or risk having the dispute dropped by WGLNA administration.

  1. Disputes must be submitted immediately after battle.
  2. Disputes must be emailed to tournaments@wargamingamerica.com
  3. The email subject/title must include the word “Dispute:” followed by the WGLNA Open Cup tournament and round information for which you are filing a dispute.
  1. Disputes may only be filed by team captains or a team member listed under team’s contact details.

 

Disputes must include the following in the body of the email or risk having the dispute dropped by tournament administration:

  1. In-game name of the player submitting the dispute
  2. Your team’s name with a link to your team’s registration page
  3. Your opponent’s team name and a link to your opponent’s registration page
  4. Reason for dispute: e.g. “I would like to report the team for breaking the -1 rule.”
  5. An attached replay of the disputed battle(s)

 

Additional notes:

  1. Opposing team captains will be alerted of the dispute by forum PM after the dispute is processed.
  2. Captains are responsible for monitoring their PM inbox.
  3. Penalty for using mods is subject, but not limited to:
    1. Player and/or team disqualification
    2. Player and/or team suspension
    3. Player and/or team expulsion
  4. Publicizing disputes prior to resolution is subject to penalties at league admin's discretion, not limited to:
    1. Disregarding the dispute
    2. Immediate team disqualification
    3. Removal of offending player from the league

 

Standings

  1. Overall standings, across all groups, for Group Stage Rounds 1 and 2 will be measured by total points earned against total points possible. These standings will be used to determine the teams moving on to Group Stage Rounds 3 and 4.

Rosters and Cumulative Cup Points

  1. In order to qualify for cumulative Cup points and be eligible for the Playoffs, teams must:
    1. Register for each Cup with the exact same team name and
    2. Retain 50% + 1 members from the previous week.
  2. Failure to do the above will cause teams to be ineligible for cumulative Cup points.

 

Promotion & Relegation

  1. Teams must keep a minimum of 3 players in order to receive an invitation to the subsequent season.
  2. Teams denying invitation to subsequent leagues, based on their final season standing, must re-enter through the Open Cup.
