because they were not going to restore it at all.

And once more, putting a modern design or ahistorical design into a vehicle "in order to get it moving" is not what a museum in the business of historical preservation should be doing, regardless of the circumstances.

Not sure why that is so difficult to understand.

It's akin to putting a modern interpretation of the Wright Flyer, propelled by a modern reciprocating engine and skinned in Ceconite because "the general public won't know nor care" in the NASM, and claiming it's correct.

That is not the job of a museum.

No one has ever said that you are wrong.

We understand your argument and we agree with it, but as the Russians seemed to be more interested in showmanship, you are arguing a lost cause ...

Unless you have the cash to force the issue, you're just gonna have to live with whatever they do.

Let it go ...

Look, you're misunderstanding me.

Last I heard someone outside of the museum said "oh Kubinka is going to restore the Maus!" etc.. and Kubinka said "we are doing what"? With an ensuing half understood stink brewed from some knuckleheads about them finishing the T35 resto ahead of Maus.

All that aside-

I doubt a museum with their reputation is going to slapdash any restoration regardless of public opinion/funding. Something I think I mentioned in the last thread.
