Group Stage Standings

Basic Tournament Information for Skirmish 49

Please see tournament page for all information

  • Team Size: 7 combatants + 3 reserves
  • Map: El Halluf
  • Mode: Standard
  • Tier Point Limit: 40
  • Tier Limits:
    • This represents the max tier allowed. Teams are allowed to bring lower tiers.
    • Light: Tier 5
    • Medium: Tier 6
    • Heavy: Tier 6
    • TD: Tier 6
    • SPG: Not allowed
  • Special Restriction: Must bring at least one of each tank type (e.g. heavy, light, medium, TD)

Skirmishes now have three days of group play (Monday-Wednesday) followed by a playoff (Friday-Sunday). Teams can choose to play only in the weekend playoff or participate in group play for better seeding and greater prizing.

After completing group play, a standings table will sort all teams across all groups based on points earned against points possible. Prizes are awarded at completion of group play to teams finishing in the top half of the standings. These teams qualify for the Alpha Playoff. All remaining teams qualify for the Bravo Playoff.

Alpha Playoff

  • This playoff consists of the top 50% of group play teams who will play for a larger prize pool. Group play performance will determine playoff seeding.

Bravo Playoff

  • This playoff consists of all remaining teams and includes teams registering solely for the weekend. These teams will compete for a smaller prize pool and the playoff brackets are not seeded.

Both the Alpha & Bravo Playoffs will use multiple brackets holding a maximum of 16 teams. This means multiple winners are awarded prizing for their standing in their respective bracket.

I have a few questions.

At what time are the battles held. I assume most people have RL restrictions etc. So what timezones are fights and playoffs held in? or is it flexible depending on availability.

What is the difference between Alpha/bravo team.

Does Bravo Teams only battle on the weekends?

For the Skirmish, battles start at 7 pm PST (10 pm EST). They run ~1.5 hr for the group stages and 1 - 2 hr for the playoffs.

Unfortunately, our tournament times are not flexible. However, we have Stand-To daily tournaments that start at 4:30 pm PST and this week we are testing a new Weekday Warfare tournament that starts at 2:30 pm PST.

Alpha registration teams play for the entire week (group stage + playoffs). Bravo registration teams only play on the weekends.

There are two different playoffs - Alpha and Bravo. Alpha playoffs are the top 50% of teams from the group stage - they play for a higher gold prize. Bravo playoffs are for the teams in the bottom 50% of the group stage plus the teams that register for the weekend only (Bravo registration) - they play for a lower gold prize.

If all matches are generally 10PM EST that is prefect for me ( puts it at 9pm CST which is my normal gaming hours.)

So all skirmish match battles etc are hosted at that 10pm EST slot?

Except Sunday. There are two rounds on Sunday - one at 4 pm PST, the other at 7 pm PST.

No worries, I love questions :-D

It's too late for the week-long part of the tournament. However, the bravo (weekend only) registration is still open until Thursday - so it's possible to still form or join a team.

Okay, And bravo team only battles on weekends correct?

The Two reserve players are to fill in for any main players who miss a match i'm assuming.

On forming a team what is the message to the gamemaster for.

It's typical of large maps with small teams and standard battle mode.

To report a Technical Victory when a team does not field a correct lineup when they had enough tanks to do so. we follow the below instructions correct?

  1. n email to tournaments@wargamingamerica.com immediately after the round has ended.
  2. Subject: <tournament name> Technical Defeat
  3. Your in-game name as team captain
  4. Your team name
  5. The opposing team name
  6. Screenshot showing the complete Technical victory. A partial Technical Victory will not count.
  7.

If they didn't want a campfest they should have allowed arty.  El Haleuf can be a tough nut to crack even with arty.

the thing i dont understand is El Halluf is a common map used in detachments (even tier 6 detachments). While running detachments you rarely come across a team who camps.... here in the tourney 80% or more we saw camped... almost as if the person running their team didn't show up and people didn't know what to do. or just a fairly unorganized group.... hope things get better. Next weeks Skirmish should be fun :))
