On the note of the Waffles being fake, that has been proven and known from the start, but I think we know where we got their inspiration.

I'm not even quite sure what this is, but it looks like two 12.8 cm FlaK 40s mounted together for AA purposes, and it highly resembles the Waffle E-100's turret.

Waffle 100's turret is supposed to be based on Gerat 50

Hmm.. I don't recall such a photograph, you may be mixing me up with someone else. If such a photo was ever posted.

As far as I'm willing to go was that it was planned to put it into the tank after a certain date, but development of Tiger II made that plan redundant.

Might have been SilentStalker?

Those were twin mount 128mm Flak gun batteries which were installed at the tops of the Flaktower-Gs in Berlin. I had been wondering what happened to them.

They were adapted from German naval guns but didn't get installed on all the towers in time.

This one got off the drawing board when more than a few others in the game didn't ... :sceptic:

Yuri Pasholok posted an image which was an emplaced Tiger turret with what seems to be an unusually large cannon which makes one wonder if it was an odd angle or was it an 8.8 cm L/71 or an 7.5 cm L/70.

At first glance I thought that was the Vk 30.01 P's turret

I'm pretty sure that one was decided to be the 7.5cm L/70 in the H2 turret dai mentioned.  The only Tiger I picture with the long 8.8cm I can think of is the drawing in Spielberger's book also posted earlier in the thread.

H2 was the weird Rheinmetall one you see elite 36.01's toting around in game, no way that's an H2 turret

Yeah, got them mixed up.  H1 was the one I meant to say.

Pretty sure it was H2, the one with 7,5 cm L/70.

I remember the H2 picture, wasn't that one.

The one i saw was the Tiger P turret equiped with the 88mm L/71, i just don't recall properly if it was in a Tiger H or P chassis. The picture was a clear black and white and the length of the gun was easy to see as it was show from the side.

I thought the chieftain had posted it but guess i'm mixing up if he doesn't recall, it was a fairly long time ago that i've seen it (over a year and half ago), and i thought it was in the firing line section.

Or i'm just going crazy, i'm not sure anymore.

If it was L/71, I would have known about it.

I haven't been able to find that picture, so i'll chalk it up to me misremembering what i saw.

Then why is it in the game?

Could it be that the game is a PURE fantasy arcade shooter and has ALMOST NOTHING to do with historical accuracy or realism...!!!

This game is not historically accurate, just look at the waffle fantasy tanks, etc

Of course not, because War Gaming and World Of Tanks wants the big guns of Tigers 1s and 2s in the hands of the High Tiers and High Clans that will Farm the lower Tiers plain and simple.   From about 43' to 45' the Tigers were being fitted with guns that were probably more accurate but less huge because the tanks had to go on many battlefields and the Allies gradually could fit their tanks with bigger guns while the Germans had less and less supplies and factories that could even work on their own tanks.

Sorry, I think someone spliced that picture, the 2 cannon barrels do not look like they were meant to be together.  I have checked the photo at larger magnification and you can see 2 tanks sitting beside one another, one looks like a Tiger 1 or 2 and the other is a different make of tank which looks like the photo itself is edited from other photos.

Considering where the picture came from, I think it's trustworthy
