This must be like a 1000th article on how certain people love this tank.

Absolutely great tank. Somehow overshadowed by more forgiving KV-1 and some premiums.

If any of you people look for new tank that brings fun and even more money, and is something new, AND you've mastered the basics of WoT,  then you should get the BDR G1B

You wont regret.

2 marks of excellence on mine, going up.

2 Pool's medals, (10 & 11 kills)

1 Radley-Waters medal

1 Kolobanov medal

36 High Calibers

10 Top Guns

60% WR

1,89 damage ratio

3,01 destruction ratio

1,79 enemy vehicle destroyed

in just 316 battles.

oh, and i dont use premium shells. ever. no matter which tank.

damn those stats look nice. i'm good.

feel free to share yours. cheers!

Really nice tank, gotta lova that tier 7 gun :D and it seems the armour bounces from time to time. When platooned with some fast firing tank( in my experience Churchill III ), forms a force to be reckoned with.

My BDR has 0% winrate and it's fully stock! 3 Games played with it

Try the ARL 44. Everyone says it's horrid but I loved that tank to death. The ONLY downside to it really was it's aim time (at top gun/tracks/engine/turret/etc, of course)

It's aim time is HORRID but beyond that it was a fantastic tank that'd I'd take over the old KV-1S.

The BDR is a decent heavy with a very good gun.  The last time I played mine I was a complete noob.  I still managed a 63.9% win rate.

BTW, if you run the ARL44...try it with the 105mm spamming premium rounds.  The premium round does more damage then the standard round.  It makes the ARL44 (and AMX M4) a real punisher.

I'm on AMX 50 100, for a long time by now.

I really liked the ARL 44, one of few tanks that i did not mind going into higher tier battles with. Very nice machine. But i needed the crew and cash unfortunately.

But i kept the BDR and play it very often. It brings me joy in this cruel world.

That 90mm put the fear of God into all it sees. KV-1 still hands down King of Tier 5 because it doesn't suffer French accuracy. (tendency to derp fully aimed shots into dirt despite being accurate)

it, and the ARL44, both very overlooked tanks in the game. Both very solid (if not better).  Likely problem is that most people are drawn to the Germans, Russians and US due to overall superior trees and tanks.  British, and Chinese get the next choices, leaving not much left after that for the French (and Japanese).  The French tree is so barren by comparison to the Germans, Russians and US (and now, the Brits) that alot of people just dont want to go down that route.  Now, if WG would get off their butt (hint hint) and provide more French tanks, we may see more BDR's and 44's on the battlefields.  But, how many times have we heard "new french tanks coming in..." only to be let down?   Arguably the most neglected nation out there.  One of the orig, but ... the newest tank is the ELC, if not mistaken? And, only four lines, unlike the six or more that the other 'orig' nations have.

The only gun for the ARL 44 and AMX M4 45 that is worth using is the long 90mm. It's penetration is so good that the only things it will ever need gold to penetrate are the AT 15A and AT 15.

I'd say another contender over beside the ARL 44 would be the Church 7. Most despise it but I loved it to death and with the groucho eyebrows (spaced armor) over the turret combined with the insanely good side armor and sidescraping capability, I felt almost invincible in it.

In addition ... I don't know why, but I almost always got really great MM in my British heavies. (Same goes for my mediums.) It feels like they get half-assed premium MM almost.

Yeah, i agree with you.

Very unique tanks in that tree, but not one of them OP.

I finished the bat chat line, and i'm on the tier 8 heavy and tier 8 arty line.

Not a single regret or bad memory.

And yeah, very overlooked nation for some reason.

The turret armor is so weak on the ARL that it really turns people off of getting any where near the enemy.

You cared for the M4 45? I mean .... don't get me wrong. It's not the worst tank around but it quite literally trades survivability and armor for a wee bit more mobility and better gun handling and that's IT over the ARL 44.

The BDR has that great 90 mm gun but I need to be able to side scrape well in my heavy tanks and it just couldn't do that anywhere near as well in the BDR as the kv1, kv1s.

[edited]i forgot about that trash can.

I used the free xp i've been gathering for 6 months just to be done with it.

Yeah, everything was good beside that M4, which was nightmare. Pointless tank.

Because the BDR has merely 30mm of side armor, with almost no tracks, and the sides are huge.

While you can get lucky, i wouldn't recommend it.

KV-1 has 75mm of side armor, lower profile, and large tracks to eat the shots.

However, what is always recommended is to use your BDR to support your own heavies from the second line.

A combination of BDR with its powerful gun and slow reload with for example Churchill or KV-1 who has armor and RoF is very deadly and effective in tier 5 battles.

Avoid sidescraping and front-line engagements. Support.

You don't even "need" premium ammo for those TD's. Shoot the middle of the gun mantle or the tumors on top. 212 is enough to get through those area and the DCA 45 is accurate enough to hit.
