I am sorry Donward, am I suppose to be offended by your comment? I didn't get it xD

No. Do go on. I'm just astounded and dumbstruck by your knowledge and nuanced grasp of modern conflicts and the use of weapon systems on today's battlefields.

LOL well, They made 140 in a year? Cause I checked a year ago xD but did get my point.

Honestly, Abrams suck, you have an idea about how many tanks were destroyed in Irak alone.. And yet during the war the US was saying they were having minimum losses and so on. Sometimes if you truly wanna know something about your country you need to ask elsewhere. The Abram is a mass of unreliable, technological, titan, tin-can. Well just sayid tin-can to go with it lol it's a big imposing intimidating machine, nothing else. In fact a bunch of guerrillas found out all by them selfs that I you were to hit it on the side close to the back wheel close to the middle, you would completely disable it without even having to destroy it. This was do to a hit on the tanks "Computer", disabling it on the process.

Absolutely false. Nice you have opinions, please do not confuse them for facts.

The fact that his claims are a completely made up fiction?

Posting an opinion piece that simply happens to be on a reputable-sounding website does not make the opinion any more factual.

I see you missed the line in the piece about "very few Abrams have been destroyed in combat". That is not an opinion, that is a statement of fact. it not an Opinion piece, it is an analysis by experts.

But don't bother with facts, cling to your opinions.

"Very Few"? That isn't a statement of fact, that's a vaguely smart-sounding thing that doesn't hold up to basic scrutiny. "Very Few" my butt. "Very Few" Pintos actually blew up when getting in wrecks. "Very Few" means absolutely nothing and I'm appalled that you think that because the author claims that "very few" Abrams were blown up that the article is anything other than an opinion piece.

For anyone who might actually buy the fiction being spun here. Here are the facts. 28 our of 140 sold to the Iraqis. Most of the losses have more to do with poor tactical doctrine being used then anything else. And spare me the emotional bluster, Wiki is hardly a Pro American website.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_the_M1_Abrams

Iraqi usage[edit]

It was reported that 28 Iraqi Army Abrams had been damaged in fighting with militants, five of them suffering full armor penetration when hit by ATGMs, in the period between 1 January and the end of May 2014; some were destroyed or damaged by militants placing explosive charges on or in the vehicles, highlighting the lack of adequate infantry support provided by Iraqi soldiers.[35] In mid-2014, Iraqi Army Abrams tanks saw action when the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant launched the June 2014 Northern Iraq offensive. Some Iraqi Army M1A1M tanks were destroyed in fighting against ISIL forces while an unknown number were captured intact. At least one ISIL-controlled M1A1M Abrams was reportedly used in the capture of the Mosul Dam in early August 2014.[citation needed] The Abrams suffered its first heavy losses at the hands of ISIL fighters against Iraqi-operated tanks through planted explosives, anti-tank missiles like the Kornet, and captured tanks later being destroyed by American airstrikes. The chief cause of these losses was the poor training of Iraqi tank operators and lack of infantry coordination.[36] About one-third of the 140 Abrams tanks delivered to the Iraqi Army had been captured by ISIL. By December 2014, the Iraqi Army only had about 40 operational Abrams left. That month, the U.S. State Department approved the sale of another 175 Abrams to Iraq.[37] The tanks may be fitted with additional protection features to defend against ISIL mine, roadside bomb, and other attacks including belly armor, reactive armor, 360-degree night vision sensors, mine-clearing blades and rollers, and a wide-area spotlight-equipped remotely operated gun mount. If approved by Congress and funded by the Iraqi government, the improvements could be made within 18 months.[38]
