This is what I got after 1 single Lowe shot, fire did the job of taking away those 900 hp.

This exact same thing happened to me yesterday. And most likely to happen every day. Dont you love it? cause I dont

PS: I couldnt find any humor forum so I post it here.

One splash from an arty or a single hit from even a lower tier medium is typically enough to ammo rack me. It seems  almost 50% of the time that my RoF is halved :(

I swear I'm a demigod: I've been set on fire and lost only the fuel tank and 50% of my durability  :Smile_great:

well, you dont have a Fire extinguisher. Thats half the problem.

I do agree however that the Panther seems to have had some ninja fixes done to it. I dont ever remember taking so much module damage or getting set on fire so much in it. I got lit on fire twice in a row, both from a T1 who could only see my upper hull armour and was on a pretty severe angle to it.

lol i got shot in the back once by T32, it took me from 100 to 45 with major module damage. thankfully and by coincidence  i had a large repair kit boom all damage was fixed. i survived the battle with 3 kills. so a good advice with panther is to get the fire extinguisher or large repair kit or both.

Today I lost around that amount of health in a single shot from the middle of nowhere in Steppes. No modules (other than the tracks) were damaged, and there was no fire. Just a stray/well-aimed shot from the other side of the map.

Why the hell are you playing a Tier 8 tank without cheap consumables?  Get out of here.

To the OP, I gotta ask, why no consumables? They are needed for tier 7 and up. They can make a difference and give you a good counter.

I understand your frustration with the Panther. The ammo rack is not well protected, and going against a veteran player in a tank or SPG, they know where to hit you. To counter this and survive more battles to earn your Panther II quicker, I suggest the following:

- Buy Wet Ammo Rack. This will greatly reduce the amount of chances of your tank with light up on fire. Yes is sucks you have to waste the slot, but trust me, it dose make a big difference.

- Stock all three consumables. Med Pack, Light Repair Kit and Fire Extinguisher. Even with mod damage and half HP, you're still a threat to be messed with. If your gunner or loader get hit, heal them. That can be a big difference when going toe to toe with somebody and those extra few seconds of loading or aiming can count. Same with the gun and ammo modules. Repair those if they get hit. You're a glass cannon, and are only effective when your gun is working and accurate.

- How were you spotted by a Lowe? You should have not been spotted in the first place. If you're getting spotted alot, you are not using the right strategy for that tank. The Panther is a long range sniper. Just like a real sniper, if you're seen by the enemy, you're useless. You have to depend on other tanks to spot for you and hang way back. Having the 88 long, you'll be able to hit targets easy at 500-600m out, and not be detected. Use your range finder more to get an idea on distance. Know that if the enemy is at 480m or less, there is a good chance you'll be seen.

- When hiding in bushes, make sure to find a spot that has 2 bushes, one in front of other. Hide lined up behind both bushes, and even when you fire, you won't be seen. If you're just hiding behind a single bush, then yes, when you fire, you will be seen.

Hope that helps and makes things a little easier for you.  ;)

I pack consumables, but every second shot I catch fire, so fire extinguisher is useless. I'll use it and catch fire again anyways. And for some reason, no matter how far away I am, every time I shoot, I get lit up and spotted. Then the rounds rain down on my head. How wonderful.

I bet you were up in e5 or d5 when  you got shot, less than 200m from the Lowe. You are still movingh at -10kph in the pic so you obviously werent sitting where you are now when you got shot...but you should have been sitting there and not in d5/e5.

What I cant stand about that tank is 1 shot often kills 3 of my crew, my ammo and sets me on fire.

A fire will pretty much destroy every module in any tank that you don't put it out.  I've caught a few russian tanks on fire with the first shot as well, it's always fun.

Face the enemy almost entirely square, or angle yourself behind cover in such a way that they cant see the side of the hull.  I actually don't get racked much when trading shots... just when mixing it up in close or if someone flanks me.

Also, fire?  Do you carry an extinguisher?  A lot of guys don't seem to, and that's just fail from the start.  You say you had one, but did you already use it in THAT game?  Or did you leave it at home?

Screw the Wet Ammo Rack; play smarter and take your chances.  The Panther rocks with a 100% crew, rammer, and vertical stabilizer.  You can shoot on the move while flanking, you can shoot VERY accurately VERY fast at long ranges.

The problem is the hitboxes are large, they overlap, and are weakly armored because im pretty sure the armor doesnt even register as sloped in the mechanics.
Panthers outrageous hitboxes

Theyre insanely easy to hit.

The fun part is the shot by itself destroyed all those modules, and not the fire, so how the hell can the turret and the engine be damaged with the same shell??? is the engine located in the turret? rofl

Downward angling shot, fired in low on the turret, such as in the turret ring, penetrating far enough to hit the engine, located in the rear of the tank. Possibly...

Considering he got your fuel tanks as well, it would have gone all the way through your tank, and come out of those two gas tanks on the rear of the tank, or maybe on an internal fuel cell, I'm not sure about that one. I have no clue where the radio is, and the ammo rack is in the sides of the tank, and they're pretty wide, so that wouldn't be too hard.

Ok, it would be awesome if I could get an image of all the tanks around panther's tier with the weaknesses highlighted like that.

I will make this simple. The panther stinks. The vk3002 is a lot better. I cant beleive I went through all this to get my panther and it is junk. The tin foil armor could not stop a bug bite.

Get a long 88 and learn how to use it. The T32, IS3 were both Solo'd.  The Lowe was solo'd from 75%

The Panther is a fun little tank. The only annoyance is that either you get lucky and you aren't slammed, or you get hit once and there's a catastrophe. I have had more broken engines and more engine fires than any other German tank and I have played all of them except for the GW Tiger, GW Typ E, the VK 4502, the Maus, the Panther II, and the Jagdtiger.
