Well since it's a reskin we already know the barrel is going to be too short right?

Visually, it should be fine. It's just that they're going to get the name wrong, much like in WoT PC. In WoT PC, it's listed as a fictional D-1504 L/51, when in reality it's a D-1508 L/51, while the D-1504 is L/44 in length. But since Wargaming does as little research as possible.

Isn't the M4 Rev an Israeli tank to begin with? It was used during the Six Day War if I am not mistaken.

no, the Rev is the proof of concept prototype of what would become the M-51 that was built in and never left France as of 1980-ish(IIRC?)

This pic shows HVSS suspension as well as fenders added.  They at least remapped that part.

As Legiondude said, it was a French proof of concept/prototype for the Israeli M-51. The Revalorisé is actually the second prototype built by France, as the first was still using the full length AMX-30 105mm L/56, just with a muzzle brake. This was still too powerful, so it was shortened into the version 105mm L/51 D-1508.

Until at least the 1980s, the chassis was sitting at a bone yard in France with an FL-10 turret on it, as the hull was used for testbed purposes. Haven't seen anything after that I don't think.

Correct, the tank we had was based on M4A1 which had 40 KM/h speed limit and spring leaf bogies wonder if they tweaked the speed as well.

Otherwise the skin looks legit.

This is very simplistic view of the discussion, it is equivalent of a claim that all tanks are the same and WG should focus on improving game play.

In fact I would claim the same thing in regards to the Chinese tech tree which features Russian/French/Japanese/American tanks in different skin and sometimes better guns. For what should be going for that tech tree is the fact that it has a potential to showcase tanks that are truly unique to the game, and maybe new maps of real tank battles namely large and open maps with set tank positions, tank ditches, and ect.

Sorry for the lack of updates for a long time now. Between real life being rather terrible of late and the fact that there's been nothing from Wargaming, nor would there be for a while, there hasn't been much to post. That being said, I do have some new and interesting stuff that I've come across. The first, how many people are familiar with the claim of 90mm armed Israeli M48s having trouble taking on the Egyptian IS-3Ms during the Six Days War in 1967? This is a pretty common tale from the war, and it makes sense that the 90mm would have some trouble. Well, I came across some pictures courtesy of The Challenger's Facebook page this morning:

Turns out that even the 105mm L7/M68 has trouble penetrating the IS-3M's armor. Which makes me wonder if maybe more of the Israeli M48s were already in the Magach 3 configuration than what we've been led to believe. Which means there was far more US involvement in the deal with Germany than most people think.

Premium tanks: Because Who Doesn't Love Making Money?

A long time ago (almost two years now) Wargaming mentioned the possibility of creating a premium Israeli IS-3. Here and here, there was some information posted about it on FTR back in 2013. Fast forward to about 6 months ago, and it was brought up again. So this continues in that vein.

M.13/40

Used by Egypt in the attack on Negba in 1948, seen being repaired by the Egyptians with the 37mm M6 cannon from an M22 Locust in a 1948 video, and this vehicle later fell into Israeli hands after suffering some battle damage. Makes for a decent reward tier 3 light, possibly tier 2 depending on balance.

This could be made a tier 2 or 3 depending on how it's balanced. It's not very heavily armed with the 37mm M6, nor does it have phenomenal armor, so tier 2 is a distinct possibility. Makes for a decent gift tank. Note: The writing says "Negba, death to the invader"

Sherman FL-10

French modification for Egypt of an M4A2 and/or M4A4 medium tank (I've seen sources claim both hulls) with an FL-10 turret and the 75mm cannon of an AMX-13. Used against Israel during the Six Days War in 1967 where at least one model was captured by Israel.

Not used by Israel, but it was captured. Alternately, the first M-50s used the earlier VVSS which was woefully inadequate, so that could be an used instead and this could be reserved as a tank in a potential Arab tech tree.

Stalin III

Used by Egypt during the Six Days War in 1967, some were later used by Israel as indirect fire artillery on the Sinai. Could be given better ammunition for the 122mm D-25 in order to function with normal matchmaking, like the IS-5.

As was mentioned in those posts on FTR, this has been considered for quite some time now as a premium Israel heavy, and it uses the same crew configuration of most of Israel's tanks.

IMI M47

Developed by IMI as part of a competition with Talbot in order to upgrade the Spanish M47 fleet. Involved bringing the M47 up to M48A3 (Magach 3) level. Same engine, transmission and cannon as on the Magach 3. One currently sits in the Yad Lashiryon armor museum.

This could be an alternate tier 9, but given that a pretty much identical vehicle from OTO-Melara is Italy's only real tier 9 medium candidate, this is best left as a reward tank.

AMX-13

Used extensively by Israel even up through the 1973 Yom Kippur War where it was hopelessly out of date.

If Wargaming wants to give Israel a high tier premium light tank, this is the candidate.

need to replace with imgur links I guess

Yeah, I will. Need to go back through and rework things anyway, as there's quite a bit out of date.
