Hello Clan Wars players,

This month's tournament will be played on Mittengard, a new map introduced in the 9.5 update. If there's a more majestic sight than 15 Mauses, IS-7's, and E-100s rumbling down steep slopes at max speed, we haven't found it yet. To demonstrate that, Mittengard is the focus of this month's Clan Wars Map Exhibition tournament. Previously used as a tiebreaker map, the fast-paced brawls created by Mittengard's small bowl-shaped design quickly made it a fan favorite, and worthy of being featured on its own.

Register for this tournament!

Each Clan is ONLY allowed to submit ONE team.

All players on each team MUST be in the Clan represented by the tournament team.

Prizes

1st: 100,000 Gold

2nd: 75,000 Gold

3rd/4th: 40,000 Gold

5-8th: 20,000 Gold

In addition, all teams that make it to Day 2 and accumulate a total of at least 7 points in the group stages will receive 2,500 Gold.

Note: All prizes are awarded to the Clan Treasury.

oh that should be fun. everything spotted the moment the game starts = massive fps drop. Its bad enough with the tiers it normally runs.

The fun part is that you will get spotted during the countdown.

so its basically just going to be a brawl with not to much chance to out play your opponant?

full E-100 teams will be interesting.

what about tanks staying ontop chai sniping all the fat tanks? You can only hide so many tier 10 super heavies on mittenfart...

spot checks dont happen untill the game starts IIRC.

an example would be in the soccer mode, you wouldent spot the enemy team untill after the counter went down and the game started.

I don't even play Clan Wars, but from my experience playing this map recently in the T8 skirmish, this is a horrible, horrible idea.

Mittengard is a horrible map no matter what tier of tanks is playing on it and needs to be removed as soon as possible.

If people have the right mindset, it's going to be a fun map.

What do you kids say?  full yolo 420 blaze it no scope?

Grab your fatties and push.  Maus, E100, IS4, FV, all the fun tanks.  Speed is not the issue.

This might be the worst idea I've ever heard, but then again this map is the worst idea in maps.

You have a game based around a spotting mechanic and relative values of different tanks based on camouflage and their distances.  Some tanks are good up close, some are good at a distance, and the entire game's mechanic is about spotting targets.

And you put them in a competition on a map that eliminates that mechanic completely, shoves everyone into a saucer where everything is spotted.

The winning team on this map will be the team with the most gpu processing power and the fastest internet connection, nothing else.

This map should not exist at all, but it certainly should not be used in a tournament like this.  Unreal.

I'm pretty sure the whole point of Mittengard is to teach new players the importance of those spotting mechanics (i.e. get into cover and unspotted as fast as possible or you'll die). Much like Province exists to discourage new players from yoloing into the middle of the map. That's why they're restricted to low tiers and in my opinion are very valuable maps. I have no idea how this will play out at tier 10 but I'll watch the first round at least with the mindset that it's just a silly experiment, not meant to be taken seriously.

TL;DR:

Lighten up dude, it's an exhibition tournament

Lighten up Francis.

It's tier 10s, on a small map.  So mediums have no place.

There is no place for arty - so arty has no place.

That leaves heavies and TDs.

You've basically got yourself a face bashing map.  He who bashes hardest, wins.

Nope, there's not much strategy involved.  Grab your biggest tanks and the team that hits most of their shots is going to win.
