JP2 is better in every meaningful way

Much more mobile

Has much thicker superstructure armor

Reloads slightly faster

Ferdinand.  or else youll have to train a new crew member for tier ix I believe.

Ferdi is stronk, Ferdi is wise.

JP2 is just a better tank.  Power creep has rendered the once beastly Ferdi into just another slow tank that can't bounce a shot.  The JP2's mobility and faster reload combined with the ability to bounce some shots off the superstructure makes is the easy choice if all you're looking for is a fun tank to play.

Why would you go any higher than T8 of the line... Jagdtiger and Jageru are awful compared to Jpanther 2.

The only reason to get a Ferdi over the JP2 is to have a complete crew ready for the tier9 Jagdtiger.

Thats a pretty stupid reason(imo) to get an outdated tank over a tank that does everything miles better.

Ferdinand is a better sniper, more gun traverse. The Ferdinand's armor is only reliable at long range.

Not even. The entire thing is 200mm flat. The only tanks that will bounce on that are T32 AP, most tier8 mediums, tier7s and 6s. Every other tier8 heavy, tier9, tier10 will cut through it like butter.

In tier9/10 matches the JP2's hull and Ferdi's hull are equally paper. The difference is JP2 can hull down and have 260mm super structure showing with a ring of 330mm around the gun mantlet. If ferdi hulls down its still 200mm flat and even Tiger2s/IS3s laugh at it.

Giving up mobility and superstructure armor for increased gun traverse is stupid.

Oh my favorite question in the world. I have played 1360 battles in the Jagdpanther II and I have loved it. Man that speed is amazing. I love rushing to light tank hot spots and auto aiming them. OH MAN that ARMOR. I love that armor so much, it bounces HEAT rounds spammed by tier 10's. Oh man the weight on that baby. With that weight and top speed I ram light tanks and even IS-3's to death. However, the annoying accuracy nerf in the 9.6 update has screwed everything up! I can't fire on the move anymore. :arta:

@ Silgaggjia54

I dont have JP2 and cannot compare the two directly. But, I have played Ferdi 100's of games and one of my keepers in sheer reliable fun. The way to use its armour is to maximise gun depression, thereby tilting the tank back and increasing the slope of its armour. The best possible situation is where lower glacis protected whilst tank tilted back with gun at max depression still able to fire at enemy. One memorable game 2 x Jagerroos couldnt pen me that way. You'll note there are two plates at 45 degrees in the frontal armour which means this tank should not be sidescraping when against an opponent of a higher tier, easy to pen here. Thus if can fight tilted really back, very easy to defend. The dpm is great - again I cant compare directly to JP2 but there few tanks who wont feel the pain when the tier 10 gun fires at lower glacis. I killed one of the Jagerroos in the aforementioned example and the other relocated. Those championing JT2 may be right, but I have never struggled to have a good fun game in Ferdi.

Last comment - Jaggeroo at tier ten an absolute beast - grinding to the Jag a long road, but this TD a boss, no doubt. It takes a different play style again! Once you get there, lemme know, I'll help you enjoy that too!

Have both, keeping both.  Just depends upon your preferred style of play. They are both good in different ways.  Also going to get the Borsig,  to go with my AT15 and ISU-152.  Would buy back the AMX mle AC 48, but my garage is getting overloaded with tier 8's.

Complete nonsense.  JTiger's frontal armor is tough (provided you cover the lfp). JagdPz E-100 has that monster 17 cm gun that no one wants to get hit by.
