I'm having trouble running this on my Compaq 8088.  The monochrome screen makes it a little hard to play.  I spend most of my time switching out my 5.25 floppies and my 20mb hard drive seems maxed out.  I might have to upgrade to an Atari 800XL, cor a TRS-80.

Great link Lady_Athena.   I have a question on game performance relating to Operating System.  Is one better than another for improving FPS?   I was running XP pro and getting smooth gameplay with FPS around 30 - 50.  I recently upgraded to Vista Ultimate.  FPS now sucks.  13 - 30.    Should I upgrade to Win7 or will I still be disappointed?
Will upgrading to a Solid State drive help, or is FPS entirely dependent upon my Video card?
Could the reduction in FPS be a result of the recent WoT upgrade?
Suggestions appreciated.

Some tips I've found to improve FPS on my laptop:
In Control Panel -> Power Options    Choose High Performance
Open your Video Card control panel and also choose High Performance
If you're using a Wireless network try plugging in a network cable.

Frank

Sorry for the late reply. Vista is not really a gaming Operating System. I personally went from XP to Win 7 (Skipped Vista because of the massive problems with it in every category). I'd highly suggest getting Win 7. Or going back to XP.

I tried EVERYTHING on my new PC ! Downloads / Patches / Updated Drivers / Broad Band Upgrade / Performance Scans / Kitchen Sink (OK - lied about that). FINALLY ... I installed the twin 4 Gig (8 total) Kingston RAM card kit. "GOOD OLD FASHIONED AMERICAN HORSE POWER" solved the issue. Hope this helps someone facing the same problem.

Cheers,

I'm curious, how will this computer run WoT?

Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium [64-bit]
Intel® Core i5-2400S quad-core processor [2.5GHz, 6MB cache]
FREE UPGRADE to 6GB DDR3-1333MHz SDRAM [2 DIMMs] from 4GB

Processor is weak even though its a new genereation it has a low clock speed (and with games that don't optimize for multi-cored processors clock speed really matters).
The VC as well is low end,
So you might get low-med settings around 30-40 depending on resolution but that is a stretch.

Drawing on my computer hardware and gaming experience, I will assign this tool as "useful" but not "perfect".  It is designed to give hardware details for your specific computer.  What is lacking from this type of test is true hardware benchmarking. Hardware benchmarking gives your computer a simulation to process graphically then records the results for later review. Hardware benchmarking finds deeper faults that could be anything from a virus activity to clogged heatsinks, or even hard drives needing defragged.

Here is a tool called "fur mark".  This tool will show you how "graphically strong" your computer is.  Using this program, select the correct monitor resolution you have from the drop down box and/or the shortcut buttons and then click on the "benchmark" button.

My computer hardware averages 20-21 FPS on this benchmark, and I usually get between 16-70 FPS when tanking.

To add in for users that only have PCI slots on their motherboard.  Your mileage would definitely vary but here is a PCI card that I believe would run WOT acceptably:
http://www.newegg.co...N82E16814161353

I recommend this software to anyone who does not have computer experience, and consider it a good starting point.

I wonder if i could run this game... lol

and also i could swear i had only 1gb of VRAM not 4gb like they claim

...you know, I almost bought a Sandy Bridge system, THEN THEY RECALLED THEM!

SO, for us AMD people, I bet MY home-built system isn't enough to run WOT... (LOL)

AMD Phenom II x6 1090T BLack Edition
Asus MT89Pro Motherboard
XFX Radeon 6950 w/ 1Gb DDR5
8Gb DDR3 PC1333 Memory

Even if I COULD run it, I bet I'd just lag... ;)

Ok the RAM I can agree with, however, I'm sure 1.6 GHz shouldn't be able to rate at 17.664.  I can play this game just fine, loading is a tad bit slow, (averaging a good 1:30-2:30 minutes before getting into a battle, I'm considering that it is more to do with RAM then the processor)

I'm planning on getting more ram later on, until then I'm running Game booster, which has improved my computer's performance in-game (loading, not so much).  Just one of the many problems I have playing this game, but I'm a little to far in to give up, so I'll just hope I'll be able to get a desktop rather then playing on my laptop.

Hi all. I was wondering if this computer could run WoT around 20 frames per second.

Specs:
Processor: 2nd generation Intel® Core™ i3-2330M (2.2 GHz, 3MB L3 Cache)
Graphics: 1GB Radeon™ HD 6770M GDDR5 Graphics
Memory: 4GB DDR3 System Memory (2 Dimm)
Hard Drive: 500GB 5400RPM Hard Drive

Thank you.
