LOL arty?

Now I know what to do with my T7 combat car...

That is a lot of open ground to cross in a wildly inaccurate tank, don't you think?

Um.. first time in tournament. On the http://worldoftanks.com/uc/tournaments/1205-Weekday_Warfare_14/ page there's a chart with a bunch of red and green dots... and nothing that tells me what the red and green dots mean. What does that mean?

Red dot: Stop! You can't bring that tier for that tank type

Green dot: Go! That tier is allowed for that tank type

T2 LT Could feasibly wreck an entire team of berts. With half the tier points too...

Interesting arrangement, why not just required a full team of 14 vehicles, with seven at tier 2 plus seven at tier 6 instead?

More the merrier?

Not like low to mid tier specialists have other 'outlets' for tougher competition, than the W.W. series of tournaments:

  •  TC's at tier 4 are dead.
  •  Strongholds start at tier 6
  •  Team Battles suffer from lower demand on the NA server, since Strongholds at tier 8 arrived.
  •  Clan Wars are restricted to a group membership drawn from at max 100 players, which require tier 10's.

Majority of the low specialists I've spoken to from the clan-less to the clan'd want a more 'challenging' environment to play in.  They enjoy the vehicles found at tiers 1 to 7, and the majority do not enjoy what they've found of tiers 8 to 10.  Majority of these individuals think artillery is underwhelming as a class at 'carrying' teammates to a win.   They are looking forward to matchmaking changes, which are to come with Patch 9.7.  What do they want? To have a chance to play with and the against the very best, regardless of background, be in random battles or in organized competitions.

Question:  Is it possible to have more than five artillery in a Tournament series, with equal numbers of lights and/or mediums?

  • If one analyzes damage ratio statistics, those who look will find low and mid-tier artillery have LOWER damage ratios overall than anything found at tiers 8 to 10.   Artillery is simply less of a significant factor at tiers 2 to 7.
  • Meta-game play found at tiers 4 to 7, varies from what's found at tiers 8 to 10 and tiers 1 to 3.
  • W.W.14 rules are seeking to combine two different 'meta-game' plays into one tournament series.  This means someone at Wargaming is trying to bring together two audiences as one. Awkwardness is the outcome I expect to see result from this effort.

Note:  Regarding W.W.12 tournament on Swamp map, I noticed zero teams that C.D.E fought in the tournament sought to use the 'secret hill spots' on the North spawn of the map.   Appears what's known on the Russian server regarding Swamp map, is not known on the NA/EU/ASIA servers players according to both vbaddict.net heatmaps and my own observations.  (Majority of opponents when they sought to attack the North spawn, used only two of the four routes available:  Line A and Line D mid-ridge hill.  Opponents avoided flanks on Lines 7 to 9, in all but one game situation. Many times opponents' sought to camp hard, on Monday-Wednesday, if they were given the South spawn.)

 Who can drive up there?

Hellcats, French artillery, M7,  T67, Jackson, SU-122A, T-28, 'the French Baguette' CDC medium (tier 8), Easy 8, MT-25

 Rule of Thumb?

Roughly if a vehicle has at least 14 to 18 horsepower per ton (what it is, depends on your vehicles particular 'terrain penalties', crew skills and fuel usage), it can drive up to secret hill spots. Whereupon it'll find multiple double & triple bushes, trees... and hull-down locations.  Plus an added opportunity to invisible snipe, passively scout, improve artillery angles, and flank clueless opponents.

Where is it?

Find the word 'Hellcat' on the below Swamp Map, which also outlines some each flag's sphere of influence.

Do I still need to report for a wrong tier tank used in a tournament? or does the staff already sees that?

Question.... This week’s Warfare takes place in Live Oaks, with teams comprised of 16 points, split between tier II light tanks and tier VI artillery. That’s right -- it’s up to you on how you want to split your squad in this 4v4 battle, so whether you want to bring all light tanks, or two light tanks and two artillery, the choice is yours!

So... does this mean you could use 3 lights and 1 artillery?? Need to know if a DQ should be filed.

Thanks,,

As long as the tier points are respected (Lights up to 2 and Arty up to 6) you are able to bring whatever lineup you would like.

I would note that my FV304 enjoys one-shotting T2 LT's often

heh, sadly i think we're going ot see nothing but lights soon.   arty is good on big teams where enemies can't push at you due to the heavy and TDs

but when its just lights and arty.....

well....prepare for pain >=D

Question: When should W.W.14 teams' expect to received their earned gold payout amounts? Before patch 9.7 arrives on Thursday or afterwards?

Enjoy your trip to the WGL finals, Wargaming tournament staff.

Cheers.
