Small progress update, sorry I have been gone so long, I have a lot more outside work to do than expected and am enjoying my new IS-7 :)

There are also a lot more challenges associated with completely changing the system to work on different screen sizes, hopefully I can get an update this weekend.

Hey guys, had a busy week, but the update is finally out!

Fullscreen mode (well, nearly fullscreen, it is still windowed), and a new shape tool!

Let me know if you find any bugs. All maps had to be converted to a new format to support scaling (smaller maps for small monitors, larger maps for larger ones, etc), so some items such as text may be messed up. This shouldn't happen again with the new system though :)

Thanks for your patience.

Pushed a small update that fixes an issue with the grid alignment breaking after editing a map description, as well as Overlord not showing in the map list.

Edit: It appears the service we use for updates broke again, and users are getting stuck. Not happy at all. For now, the update is on the website, but current users are not forced to update.

Currently it is Windows only. Microsoft and Mono have no plans to port Wpf (the user interface framework) to other platforms. Are you actually running WoT on Linux?

The update is out with a few bug fixes, most notably finally fixed our update system. (Although it wasn't caused by us)

To get everybody on this fixed version that will allow future updates, everyone must update manually by re-downloading StratSketch and running the installer.

I've fixed an issue with chat messages being sent twice. (Particularly annoying when giving edit permission)

I've decided to make this small update for new installs only, as I don't want to make everybody update for something so insignificant. If you want the patch, you can re download StratSketch. The patch will be available for existing installs for the larger 9.8 update.

We also hit over 50 users online at once yesterday! Excited to see the activity.

Sorry for the downtime today, issues with our server hosting provider. Back up. (A car hit some of the fiber optic cables from the host's datacenter)

Update for 9.8 released!

  • Added a grayscale color slider.
  • Made multiple tanks count towards the total using the syntax of "#x", which will add # of tanks to the total.
  • Added arrows to the pen tool, as well as "stoppers" to both the line and pen tools. (Indicating the tanks should stop)
  • Added the ability for map owners to kick users from their briefings.
  • Added the ability for maps to be hidden to regular viewers by the map owner and helpers.
  • Implemented an auto-reconnect. If a user becomes disconnected from a (saved) briefing, the client will try to reconnect automatically.
  • Made text a bit easier to read. (Use the note or label styles for best legibility.)
  • Made the select tool auto-select after placing text, making it easier to move it. The textbox is now cleared after placing as well.
  • Fixed a few minor bugs and issues.

You can read more and see screenshots on our website. (For some reason any image from "i.pyratron.com" can't be posted as "You have entered a link to a website that the administrator does not allow links to" :/)

Pushed another update to address a few bugs, as well as add a new feature! You can now fork (create a copy) of a briefing, so you can base strats off each other without modifying the original.

Pushed another small update to hopefully address the networking "connection timed out" issues some have been seeing. If you get an issue such as "Couldn't aquire lock" during the update process, just keep StratSketch open and it will still update.

Been using this in all 4 of my WOT clans and we are impressed.

Great program.

I look forward to seeing this used for Warships, when it goes lve.

Glad it is working great for you guys :)

I will definitely be adding support for WoWS and WoWP if/when clan wars come to them.

"Slide Show" feature is very desirable.  This feature allows a planner to use the following format (example below):

  1. [Slide 1] - Spawn  - Movement to Group location
  2. [Slide 2] - Ideal Strategy Overall
  3. [Slide 3] - Contact - North
  4. [Slide 4] - Contact - Mid
  5. [Slide 5] - Contact - East
  6. [Slide 6] - Coordinated Actions - North
  7. [Slide 7] - Coordinated Actions - Mid
  8. [Slide 8] - Coordinated Actions - East
  9. [Slide 9] - Defensive Posture

Currently, planning members have to change from strat to strat, and there is no easy way to move 'forward' or 'back' in the presentation.

I concur.  This would be an invaluable inclusion, whereby planning teams can fluidly move back and forth.

I miss quite a few symbols from the menu. The program is really valuable for planning team battles, but after discussing the strategy with StratSketch for 3+ maps we agreed that we're in need of some markers: crosses, dots (which we couldn't really do with the current "line" tool), and we also couldn't reset the color palette (which automatically clears itself after a restart).

Another confusing tool is the "minimap sector", we feel it's obsolete and has no value due to the existence of the "tracker" and "ping" tool. The Base Flag icon should also be replaced by the capture circle's exact size. It makes planning base capture (using cover) easier.

The area highlight tool is extremely useful, thank you for adding that.

I also have to agree with the slideshow feature. Without it there is no real way of discussing different reactions to in-game events than forking different briefings.

P.S. I seem to have a bug that after every restart, there is an immovable, not removable copy of what I suppose is my last action.
