Hi Guys

I unlocked the Panther last night after grinding away on my DB (AWESOME tank when maxed out btw) and other elites. Now its got both engines and guns unlocked but obviusly needs the track (13k) and turret (18k) before I can fit that gear. I stll need another 1.5 mil credits to buy it but I can exchange the gold if necessary.

So my question to other Panther drivers out there - how bad will my stock Panther battles be? I can spend the gold and grab it now and roll with it stock and grab the tracks and turret in a week or two of grind OR save the gold and free xp for another week or two and make sure I have the tracks therefore the engine and guns when I buy it?

Summary - is it worth even playing as stock if you have the choice?

Panther is terrible when stock. Completely terrible. Wait and unlock the tracks and turret before playing it.

I would use whatever free XP I had to upgrade the Panther.  I wouldn't use gold to convert XP from another tank, though, but I don't do that anyway.

The Panther is bad stock.  It really needs the long 88 to be worth much of anything.

Unlock everything by playing it. Do not use your gold or free XP now, or else, you will suffer on the Panther II grind.

yes the panther stock is a step down from the vk3002 maxed. I really enjoy the panther now that it is maxed out..but the P2 is worth the grind :)

Looks like saving up for the tracks and turret first it is. Kinda sad that its so bad its better not to play it until upgraded....

Oh well more time on the DB of doom!

You can just wait a month or so till 6.6, then you'll get a Panther II instead of the Panther and the grind should be easier.

When I purchased the Panther, I had 2 engine upgrades and best radio, so it was not completely 100% stock. I actually faired fairly well in it with the L70. Was holding my own in higher tier battles. My grind only consists of the track and turret because, the top engine and the long 88 was waiting for me courtesy of my TigerI grind.

A stock Panther is painful to use in the tiers it gets put in. I'm sitting on 18000 free xp so that once i get the Panther (100000 xp to go on the 3002(DB)) i won't have to use it stock and can at least get it the suspension upgrade and probably an engine.

Get Suspension, turret and gun.  Then engine.  Gun eases the grind substantially. Seriously.  Long 88 is the only way to go with the Panther.

I've actually had surprising luck with my stock panther. It has good health, great view range and great accuracy. Hard to penetrate a lot of the time, especially if you're not near the top of the battle, but it's serviceable...Which is surprising, given that I didn't transfer my Vk3002(DB) crew over and thus they started at 75% (albeit with a gun laying drive and coated optics)

its a terrible stock you'll be a burden for the team. panther 2 stock is slightly better then panther 1 stock.

at least you can mount the long 88 on the stock turret now, but at T9, the Panther really doesnt even begin to shine untill you get the 10.5  Its a totally new tank.

Panther is a bad tank, upgraded or not. As I've said before, you will be driving an underpowered TD with no innate camo ability. I have driven this pile of crap as much as my sanity will allow. It is shelved until the new tech tree is released and even then it might get sold for better tanks.

I did ok with the Panther, much better with the long 88.  Stay behind the heavy push and snipe, do not attract attention to yourself and flank heavies mid to late game when your mobility is a great asset.  Use as much cover whenever you can.  Once you're spotted and being fired on by multiple enemies you can kiss your @ss goodbye!

I waited to get my Panther II until I could use the 10.5... and using the same playstyle you can rack up kills and solo IS-3's rushing a frontal attack on you.

Holy smokes, I just unlocked this thing and the stock turning radius is worse than the titanic.  I may as well be shooting tennis balls with the stock gun :).

I love the panther, it almost has my highest win % at around 64%. Fully upgraded 100% crew.

Holy cripe, it's impossible to make money on this thing with the stock 75 gun.  Why can't we equip the short 88 from the start??? :(.  Just wrong.

The Panther stock is about as bad as having a sunburned d**k.  Painful, but once it gets better you can have some fun.

(Dont judge the Panther untill you get the Turret and Long 88, upgrade to the last engine last.)

What's worse stock, Panther or Tiger? The two share engine upgrades and the long 88 upgrade, so I figured I'd grind those items on whichever tank was better stock. That way those upgrades would be available immediately for the other tank, saving much pain and aggravation.
