The issue with railguns is that the magnetic forces repelling the rails tends to split the gun in half.HERD DE DERP

Railgun technology is a long ways away from being compact and cost efficient enough to be implemented in a tank.

I know, but its still something worth looking into. I mean in the space of 40 years, we went from the wright flyer, barely able to stay aloft, to powerfull fighters capable of more than 300mph. In less than 50, we had advanced to the jet engine.

I mean the rail gun could quite litteraly make chemical propellants obsolete.

To be honest, the Challenger Mk II I think shared the same armour with the M1A2 Abram main battle tank. Despite this true statement, the British will never tell anyone what's the armour for this tank. All I can say: it's classified information

It's not just classified...it's at least 'secret which is a much higher security rating.
I though the C2 used Dorchester now which is an improvement over the 1st Generation Chobham used on the C1 and Abrams.
