Tank sniper in a heavy?

I know what you thinking.... you redline-camping noob... but not quite.

Bottom tier battle in my new Renegade on Karelia.... I went to the North flank to initially use some of the hills to peak... and then stayed a bit back and used the tanks fantastic (when fully aimed) accuracy and great DPM to belt out nearly 4k damage. This, at least IMO, is the most comfortable playstyle for the tank. The armor is strong enough to bully lower tiers... but you really don't want to brawl with same tier or higher tier heavies unless you can work a ridgeline.... however at range even with higher tier tanks the armor does tend to be rather bouncy.

Hi All

I need to grind a lot of free exp because I do not want to play the Cent 7/1 I just unlocked as a stock tank My plan is to play my 2 best tier 8 premiums for dealing average damage a bunch this weekend. Is that a sound plan or am I missing something?

Been under the weather for the past month and I've missed the advent stuff and all.  Really haven't felt like playing.

I played the 7/1 stock and it was not as horrible as I feared.  You do need to either do the tracks first, or use enhanced coil springs to be able to mount any equipment or heavier modules.

For Free XP, if you have unlocked sufficient Festive Level, light tanks earn a 200% bonus to Free XP when chosen as a Holiday Op vehicle.  You can only use non-premiums, but an elited light tank, with boosters, as an Ops vehicle, with accelerated crew training disabled, should grind free and convertible xp pretty fast.  Alternatively, an elited heavy or medium Ops vehicle gets a 50% bonus to battle xp, which could be used to make convertible XP.

Okay, confession time: this game was on the South American server.  Note the battle type: Bots.  I've decided to research the British heavy line, and rather than burn free xp, I decided to start back at tier II.  In order to not spend years in the queue, I decided to try the South American server.  I must say, that worked well, I generally spent less than a minute in the queue per game.  But what surprised me, but probably shouldn't have, was that most of the human opponents I met were driving relatively OP tanks that they had hundreds, if not thousands, of games in.  As I was working through the Matilda, I faced a two man platoon of Luchs each with a full gold load out and about 1.5k games each in them.  Needless to say I was slaughtered, and I was left wondering, who would find that fun?  On the SA server, you're lucky to get a battle with 3 humans and you will generally get 6-9 bots, and the bots play like, well, bots.

I decided to try it myself, and try the new tier II wheelie, the Gendron, at the same time, so I dropped my 6 skill AMX 13 90 crew into it.  I drew the line at equipment, and didn't fire gold, and this was the result.  Fun once maybe, but playing it more on the SA server would be like a steady diet of cotton candy.  I may not play the Gendron again, as I now have a 100% WR, an 8,164 WN8 and an average of 6 kills per game in it, and who would want to mess with that?

Any how, I did what I set out to do.  I ground through to the Churchill, and then free xped and blue printed up to the Caernarvon, so it's back to the US server for me.  I haven't bought the Caern or played it yet, but I picked up the CAX in the Advent Calendar, and I've heard good things about the line, tier VIII and up, of course.  I'm pretty happy to have skipped the Churches and the BP.

GLHF and a merry Christmas to all.

Good game in my Emil I.

http://wotreplays.eu...haser392-emil_i

6th battle in the tank.... it is bone stock (hence the gold-spamming). This battle starts a bit slow.... but is a perfect example of not giving up even when the battle seems lost. Its also a perfect example of how vital team deployment is in winning battles. My team did a terrible job of deploying initially and it rapidly put us in the hole.... we gave up 3/4s of the map and had the battle all but lost.

Only 2 things saved us... one was our Strv S1 driver who absolutely shredded everything in range, and two the reds kept allowing me to re-load my clip unopposed. Had the reds in the brick factory coordinated their attacks they would have overrun me and the battle probably would have been lost.

Ace Tanker game in my Vk 30.01 (H): http://wotreplays.eu...r392-vk_30_01_h

What can I say about this one? Well.... WTH was my team thinking??? IMO, this battle is another classic example of how deploying poorly makes a battle far more difficult to win. Only 3 tanks (myself included) went into the city where I found myself in a 4 to 1 fight.... the only thing that saved me was my decent turret armor and the accuracy of the 7.5/5.5 Waffe gun.

The red KV-1s gave me a load of trouble because I couldn't outspot him.... and I shouldn't have backed towards the M10 Wolverine sideways but in the heat of battle I took the chance because I didn't want him slinking away and finding a place to snipe. With a single HP left when the Pv. IV H was spotted going for arty I decided to make a suicide run to try and keep him spotted long enough for the Bishop to finish him off.... instead he killed both arty and ignored me which allowed me to kill him. Probably the deciding factor in the game because it looked to me in the replay that our TDs were not winning the vision game....

Nice game Chase! I had my 1st game in the Emil 1. It feels to be a very good tank. Thanks to OOTree for coming back like a champ with his Defender and using his armor to shield my weak spots. We were losing this until he and I crushed their push then went back and cleaned up their base campers. Just a couple of average players who had a very good game. Kind of helps takes the edge off the 55% lose rate I been on since Dec 1
