I show 510 on wotlabs, I think. Is 503 the in-game profile?

Did not know those were different. Yes Dun shows 510 on WOT.

Dun, WHY did you play 510 game in the Tog II?

In ancient times, before the advent of Japanese tanks with howitzers everywhere, when artillery was nerfed into the ground, and TOG's only natural predator was the KV-2, the might TOGs roamed in packs and entire private channels were devoted to the joy of TOG. Those were the days of the glory of an all-TOG tank company roaming in the wild, pouring slowly over the ridgelines of Dragon Ridge to engulf the enemy in endless hitpoints and blazing cannons. And it was good and beautiful, because power creep had not been invented yet in TOG's tier.

Don't know why, but when I look up Dun's record, it still shows 503 games in the Tog... Here: https://worldoftanks.com/en/community/accounts/1001722557-Dunfalach/

The Tog can be fun at times, but I seem to draw the ire of artillery always, so it only gets worse in something slow, and the Tog is anything but fast.

I'm wondering if the difference is that maybe that record only shows random battles and wotlabs includes tank companies? Because I know I only participated in a handful of TOG tank companies. Not saying it definitely is, but a hypothesis at least.

Speaking of which, my other fun TOG tank company story is the time a full TOG company landed on Erlenberg Assault and the enemy had 3 French lights that fast-capped the center bridge. The game ended with absolutely no tanks even spotted by either team :D 0 damage all around. It was hilarious.

Information for the Tanksgiving and Black Friday events is starting to appear on the front page. Including a pending marathon to let you earn black tier 8 tanks. I'm considering going after the T34 B. Or maybe the Schwarzpanzer. I have the non-black versions of all three tanks already but might try for the event if the requirements are reasonable. They'll also be on sale Nov 1-4 for those that don't want to grind. Skorpion also coming up on sale.

I agree. IS-6 is  a painful tank to play now.

After playing tier 8/9/10 heavies and TD's for a big portion of my oddball weekend tanking time (I do mean odd hours, like between 4-8am on Saturday, about 11pm Saturday to 2am Sunday, and then 1am-5am Monday morning) I decided to go back to my roots of highly mobile tanks, specifically pesky light tanks!

Here's how I did:

Spoiler

After trudging though low 50%ish periods while playing heavies, I'm back up over 60% in that session of nothing but light tanks. If I only run German or American mediums in tiers 5-9 I can typically hit around low 60's for a session pretty typically.

This isn't me bragging, it's a simple realization that this really shows the difference that mobility can make. Same player, with similar amounts of games, and if you give me a mobile selection of tanks, I'll win up to 10% more of my games. That just shows how much mobility is key to winning. Something to keep in mind for those struggling for wins. Maybe mixing in more mobile tanks might help you out.

And my finale for the night, trying to get the last 650 damage I needed for my mission. I think I managed it.

One of the keys to this one was that I actually had support, especially from the Skorpion that kept backing me up each stage. That plus the terrain suiting my hull down tank (except where I had depression problems) let me be really aggressive to light up the TDs ahead of me. Their artillery was also nice enough to be busy elsewhere most of the match.

This one is worth a watch for amusement. Overall, it was a decent score, nearly 3k damage, and helped the team win. But that's not why I'm posting it. I'm posting it for the Type 59 Waltz.

To me, it was funny to see that the T25/2 player knew how to handle your Defender better than the Type 59 who just spammed APCR to little effect.

True. I give the Type credit for trying to outflank me. I knew he was going to do it, saw him start moving that way when he saw I was isolated (which I was already expecting), so I made an effort to clear what was in front of me so I could turn to face him. Catching him on my back bumper was accidental but driving around in a continual reverse circle while waiting on my reloads to keep him there was hilarious.

Also just giving a bit of credit to the T25/2 driver for being able to be effective with good old aiming and regular shells. I really like that TD and need to dig mine out more.

Well this just happened. Honestly tho, whose idea was it to give the Type 5 heavy no frontal armor anywhere penetratable by standard rounds.

As soon as I saw him, double pressed 2. TBH WG should either drop the armor and let it keep its derp gun or drop the derp gun and let it keep its armor

Agreed. I finally figured out what's wrong with the Japanese heavy tanks on another thread talking about how to beat the Type 4 and Type 5.

The balancing factor for derp guns is vulnerability during reload. That's why the KV-2 has a big flat turret that can be penned by even lower tier guns with standard rounds if they shoot it even a bit intelligently. Having invulnerable frontal armor on a derp cannon removes that balancing vulnerability given that the maps favor chokepoint fights where there's no way to outflank them (unless their team is stupid enough to leave them completely unsupported by even one tank). Even if I might personally be smart enough not to frontally duel him, I can't assume the same will be true for the other half the team that's in that corridor and die one by one. No tank with a derp cannon should be able to sit in the open while visible and reload under fire in reliable safety. At the least, they should be able to be reliably penned by same tier tanks with standard rounds.

Yes, this is when I started to lose interest in the game. The way the Japanese heavies were designed was a horrible error on WG part. Prior to them there were tough tanks at every teir but they at least had some exploitable weaknesses.
