Could someone please tell me how to disable smoke efects like when shooting driving through a house, or from dystroyed tanks. It seems when their is no smoke in sight i get around 20-25 fps but when I go near a buringing tank or shoot in sniper mode my fps drops dramtically like to 5fps or even lower when shooting in sniper mode. I was watching a video of world of tanks who has this just the dystroyed tanks and the shooting of the gun. But when he shoots his gun just the fire comes out which i like because you know your shooting but their is no fps drop. I looked on the other forums for this but they dont seem clear to me on how to do it, any tips would be appriciated.

And another vote - my video card hates smoke when I'm in sniper mode, and I get a frame rate drop.  I have an 8400GS, which is a few years old but still able to handle most games I've put on this machine.  As it is, I've got my settings at minimum - did so back when there was that huge lag problem, never set them back.  Smoke still slows things down.

look for some files that start with the name shot_  .xml  (there are around 8 of them) in res/gui/particles if i'm not mistaken (or search for them)
simply move them to a backup folder and that's it, no more smoke, bear in mind that it means NO MORE smoke eitther in 3rd person, sniper or other tanks

You'll need to replace two files: http://forum.worldof...dpost__p__17655

merig, that only replaces engine exhaust, i believe they're talking about shot smoke, the one that cripples every computer out there(specially with AMD GPUs)

Oups. That was meant for another topic http://forum.worldof...t-smoke-removal:D

Anyway forum search does wonders :D
Here is a nice mod if you generally have problems in scope mode regardless of smoke: http://forum.worldof...-when-zoomed-in
And a lot of different solutions to increase FPS for weak machines: http://forum.worldof...-pack-and-more/

You'll need to tinker with smoke files to figure out which one is for the shots smoke in scope mode.
