Once AW looks better than War Thunder, then I'll consider it.

Remember how War Thunder ground forces never killed WoT? And the AW community is getting a lot of toxic WoT players. Once stats arrive there, it won't be any better than WoT.

Basically, I have no interest in it.

Bought early access pack for AW:

Day one: Server crashed, couldn't get on.

Day two: Server shut down early for problems.

Day three: Server not available.

Day four: Server was online for about an hour and a half, then shut down.

Filed a complaint ticket, was refunded my money and haven't been back since.

My gaming time will be divided between WoT, AW, Warthunder, planetside 2, DayZ, and soon Bf2 project reality :)

I loved BF2:PR.

on War Thunder: if Gaijin made the ground forces the same as the planes arcade, they had a winner. But alas they thought they new better.

No interest in AW.

Played M1 Abrams a lot when it came out, and ATGMs are most deadly things in that game.  If they exist in AW, that's what all the stat padders will play/spam, no one with a brain will play a MBT, and it'll be mice with bazookas chasing each other around the battle field.  If they don't implement them, it'll be a WoT clone with a few tweaks.

I laugh at the idea that AW will be the competitor for WoT, WoWS will probably siphon off more players, but in that Wargaming still wins.  'Come for the tanks, stay for the battleships'.

I suspect that when it comes out I'll play WoT most of the time and jump to the other game every time MM decides to give me a streak of horrible teams.

Competition is always a good thing.  It keeps everyone on their toes!  Five years with WOT and it still keeps me interested in playing.  Although constant vehicle changes with buffs and nerfs can be a bit upsetting at times.

If AW can get skill-based MM down right, it can put it a huge step above WoT in drawing away consumers... and if it doesn't flop in other areas, WG will finally have a solid reason to implement their own skill based MM.

I doubt that AW will ever be a WoT "Killer", but from what I've seen gameplay wise, it stands to be a modern parallel rival.

Play WT, constantly getting one shot...makes me angry

Registered for AW weeks ago to get in early. Then get an email. Pay to play. Nope, never played

I love WOT even with all of the problems in the game. I am terrible at the game and cannot play as much as I would like, but I feel that WOT is the leader by far.

People will discover that the grass is not always greener on the other side

Well, this is where the stat [edited]here would say, "Learn to play".

WT is not WoT.

WoT is an arcade game and nothing more. It's Call of Duty, only instead of piloting a soldier, you pilot a tank. The same exact things apply: you look around, try to target something and shoot it. You have hit points and items that can be damaged. Once you hit zero hit points, you die.

WT is an attempt to be more true to life. Even the arcade mode is that way, albeit much easier. It's engineered to be more realistic and true to what would actually happen in combat.

In combat, you don't have hit points. You have armor, parts of a tank, and crew members. Certain crew members you can live without, others you can't. Certain modules you can live without, others you can't. If too many crew are taken out, you die. If your tank gets hit through the fuel tanks and set on fire and you can't put it out, you die. If your tank gets blasted by a bomb and kills your entire crew, you die.

That's why 9 times out of 10, any shell that penetrates is going to kill you. It does in real life, because it's going to hit something or someone...usually both.

So you have to be much more careful about sticking your nose out. Your situational awareness needs to be much higher there than here, because the vast majority of the time in WT, there is no margin for error at all. Here, you can screw up 10 times in a single match and get away with it.

That's the difference between the two. One is an arcade first person shoot, the other is not.

Yep. Well aware of the modules, crews, and trying to not stick my noise out. But still happens. I feel too much, even for a noob, but it is what it is. The hit points in WOT do allow you to get away more with mistakes and WT does not. You are correct, I am still learning to play both games and it will come in time.

There you go. Spot on.

Don't get me wrong: I still get bent out of shape when I get nailed by something I didn't see, but at least there it's my own fault, not some shoddy spotting mechanic that allows me to get pelted to death by 5 tanks I never see.

Well there is an excellent example of customer service that WG could learn from. Can anyone, anywhere, ever imagine WG refunding money?

The players on AW whine more about arty there than they players do here. Even with a warning, and low arty alpha, the arty hate there is crazy.

They listened to the players and made arty ineffective, yet players still whine about it en masse. It's hilarious.

Yes.

As I've said before, I always give credit where credit is due, and when it comes down to money transactions, Wargaming is very good about it in my experience.

I purchased a 10,000 gold package three years ago and it never registered to my account. I filed a ticket a few hours later. The next morning I had an email asking me to please be patient and they would cancel the transaction as they were having issues with the company that was processing orders at the time.

So I waited, and two days later I got a statement that the transaction had in fact been cancelled, that my card had been charged nothing, and that the issues they were having had been resolved so if I wished I could try again.

I did and it went through with no problems.

Lol @ how ignorant you are. Early access means pre-cbt, nothing works.
