If you are in tier 2 tanks you don't see tier 4 already. That's why Tier 3 is included but not playable, matchmaker. Exception being the T2 Light, which I will make the assumption is also included but not playable. This seems like it is the full game but only the models for tiers 1-3 so the file size is small... so demo seems accurate. They have gone from 1 client everyone uses that they couldn't keep the bugs out of to 3.... Wargaming Logic you so funny!

Thx. Now it makes sense :)

I think platoons need to be included so those who want to try the game out can at least play with friends who may have invited them.

It's an old thread, it just took them 3 months to actually release it.  And I still don't see any real value in this beyond making a dedicated tier 1-2 seal clubbing alt.  Actual new players will get to tier 3 very fast considering most invite codes throw in a week of premium time.  It's also coincidentally tier 3-4 where the initial fun dies and fighting tier 5/6 heavies with your stock low tier is absolute aggravating futility.

It's even more pointless when you consider some of the invite codes give tier 3 premiums, which I assume if they attempt to use it immediately prompts them to download the full client.  Did anyone at all think this through?

Judging from all the negative votes I would say no

I can only think this would help untapped markets. Who doesn't have access to highspeed internet with unlimited data? I don't see the need for this mini-client in developed parts of the world, especially when considering the game is over 4 years old. It's great for those starting to get faster internet speeds and better computers.

I hope these "new" players get a better experience than it's early adopters. /end sarcasm

EDIT: WG you wouldn't be where you are today if it weren't for us $upporters in the NA & EU.

A very good idea, used by some other gaming houses but not widely enough.  Two thumbs up.  Microsoft's Office team went to this model a couple of years ago and it was very nice to be able to start using the product in a very short time while it did the rest in the background.

So-so idea. Trying to adapt a broken game for some of the newest players.... Looks like they are trying hard to not sit on their thumbs!

On a functional level all three clients are identical. The only real difference is that for the mini client you don't have access to higher than tier 2 tanks and the sd client lacks the highest quality textures but both will be running the same code as the full hd client. Mods and such should work fine for the mini client too.

I'm not sure I understand the antipathy towards arty; when it's present it just just changes how you play the game i.e. it's an even less bright idea than usual to sit still in the open...?

I don't play arty that much, I must admit, as I find it a bit dull a lot of the time, but it does add another dimension to the game.

On a completely unrelated side note that has absolutely nothing to do with a client full of newbies, is the T18 still the king of tier2?
