Just to add onto the robot world domination angle. This is the stuff they show us publically. What's being done in secret?

Seattle - The Last Time Winter Was This Cold, Reagan Was President

This made it the coldest winter since 1984-85 (32 years ago). To put this into perspective, we only had 14 days warmer than 50 degrees, while 58 days were colder than 35 degrees. This made it into the top 20 coldest winters in the Seattle area, with records going back to 1894.

This was the snowiest winter since 2008-2009 when close to two feet of snow fell. We managed 11.2 inches this season, which is over a half-foot more than typical. There were 19 days this winter where SeaTac measured at least a trace of snow.

While February 2017 ended up the second wettest February on record, winter as a whole only topped 37th-wettest ever recorded with 16.94 inches of rain.

Risk Of Cascadia Quake Elevated As Puget Sound 'Slow Slip' Event Begins

A Cascadia event could cause up to a 9.0 magnitude quake with intense shaking lasting up to five minutes. The shaking would level un-reinforced buildings and roadways, sever utility lines and rupture gas and oil pipelines. About 20 minutes later, a tsunami would hit the West Coast and cause destruction similar to the March 2011 megaquake in Japan.

From Rocks In Colorado, Evidence Of A ‘Chaotic Solar System’
The discovery promises not only a better understanding of the mechanics of the solar system, but also a more precise measuring stick for geologic time. Moreover, it offers a better understanding of the link between orbital variations and climate change over geologic time scales.

Science Has A Reproducibility Crisis

A culture that promotes impact over substance, flashy findings over the dull, confirmatory work that most of science is about

A survey by Nature revealed that over two thirds of researchers surveyed had tried and failed to reproduce the results of another scientist’s study. Over half of them had been unable to reproduce their own results. Fifty two percent of researchers polled said there was a “significant crisis” of reproducibility.

Maybe this is just me being pessimistic but robots taking over majority of military jobs. As cruel as it is, humans are cheap and are "disposable". Maybe some jobs at the back or administrative works will be taken over by robots with some human oversight.

Well, robots and automation to lessen friendlies casualties are nice to have during war times though.

Was the Concorde retired for having an accident or because of its inefficiency in terms of operating costs? So far, the popular notion that it retired is the accident that it had.

Good point and something I had some experience with earlier today in my Fallout 4 game. My settlers at Greentop nursery were having problems with the respawning Super Mutants next door at Break Heart Banks. I have a mod that lets me set up new settlements anywhere so I decided to set up Break Heart Banks as a settlement, wall it off and set up some missile and heavy laser turrets to fire into it when they respawn. I needed a provisioner and was going to make a robot for that but decided it was less costly in materials so I sent a settler there who became my provisioner.
