Hello Tankers!

The In-Game Reporting System has been active for a few months now and we would like to formally introduce it to the community.

What is the In-Game Reporting System?

It is an automated complaint system to deal with rule violations during gameplay, based on the philosophy of self-moderation from the community. This effectively eliminates the need for the player to spend time to report a violation via our ticketing system.

How does it work?

Players can submit complaints about a misbehaving player, which will queue up like a point system. Once the same player has received "X" number of complaints and surpassed a predefined threshold their account is noted for a game sanction. By limiting the reports to battles that the player has participated in and restricting the amount of available complaints, we have ensured that the system cannot be abused. This means that if you were not in the same battle as the violator then you cannot submit a complaint about their behavior. Each player has maximum of (10) complaints they can submit per day, all of which can be used on a single player or one or more times for a different number of players. We were aware that some players may choose the former to possibly force ban someone so we did not set the threshold too low, hopefully avoiding this issue.

To give a rough ballpark of the current threshold, let's review these examples:

- If one player uses up all of their complaints on a single violator ⇒ the offending player is unlikely to receive a game sanction

- If all players in a battle, except for the misbehaving player, submits all possible complaints ⇒ the offending player is very likely to receive a game sanction

How do I send a complaint?

More information on how to use the In-Game Report System can be found in the following Knowledgebase Article

Can I submit complaint and still send in a ticket?

You are welcomed to use both, however, we want to encourage players to use the In-Game Reporting System. We do ask that you continue to submit tickets regarding physics abuse, possible game bugs, violations that occur in General Chat or game exploits.

Have any suggestions or feedback?

it fails

easier solution (listen to this)

xbox mute chat solution  (except this is for pc)

aka, press tab while in game.

go to offending player.  click the circle next to his name.

his text chat is now blocked for you for all games you have with him until you click the circle again.

toxic players blocked with ease

yeah but that takes time.  gotta go to their name, select the menu, scroll down. "confirm blacklist"

and i can't remember if it takes affect after the battle or during the battle....

plus you don't know if a person in battle was previously blacklisted by you.    so if you want to give them a chance, you don't know.

"REPORT THAT CHEATING FGT SHIFTY_101ST FOR HAX"

"YOU CHEATING SIMP PLAYER!!!! REPORTED HAXOR!"

"OH GREAT, a [edited]hacking blue player on the enemy team, GG guys it's a loss reported and leaving"

Just curious that's all :)

EDIT: Almost forgot, I technically classify myself as "decent" at this game.  What about all the unicums and super unicums huh?

It shows on the team panels if someone on either team is blacklisted by you, or at least it does for me.

I don't see this system working very well.

1 player shouldn't be able to select the same item more than once a battle against a player,

If more than half at team submits say 1 report for insults, odds are that person is guilty and to be sure a review of the battle followed by either a sanction if guilty or wiping the slate clean if there is nothing to note.

The review should determine what the sanction is.

The way this sounds is that each player has to pick who they think the worst offender is and then dump all their reports on them.

There are a number of ways to get the game to nearly police itself, but you still need the human factor to review infractions where a player has more than say 5 to 7 players use a single report on them for the same thing, being bot, sportsmanship or say insults etc. I know way back I was reported during a battle and got a chat ban for 24 hours. I have yet to be banned and the way this sounds most that insult players have little to worry about.

The game accounts are noted and then reviewed, bringing the human element back into the decision making. It is not as cut and dry as FF/TK/TD - Saffr0n

You're system fails because it only covers chat abusers.  WG's in game reporting works on all the possible abuses.

Anyone that does well in even 1 battle is called a cheater, been called it many times in my T54 mod 1, if only I played every tank as well as I play that one.

You sir are better than decent at this game.

Read the original post Warhorse.  They covered the fact that one person may have the ability to pile on a bunch of complaints, but WG will not take them as a serious complaint.

"...The way this sounds is that each player has to pick who they think the worst offender is and then dump all their reports on them....".  You're not supposed to report someone unless that person is in violation of some game rule.  If you've got two or three players doing something against the game rules, report each of them once.  You don't pick the worst of the three and submit a complaint three times against him/her.

So a bunch of players have to burn 10 reports just to have a chance of it working on one bad apple.  No fail there.....

Yeah, I got some feedback for you:

Self Moderation? Are you serious? Why did you get rid of negs if these people can "Self Moderate"?

Who exactly are you trying to save time for? Cause I know it aint our time you're trying to save.

Cannot be abused? Yeah, like your TK system cannot be abused?

My biggest problem with this system is the lack of feedback . I mean leats say I report Player A for something. Team sees it and also reports him. Next game i bump into him again. Obviously that shows me he was not reported enough. Now same thing happens again. Some feedback like the Player X you reported for [Whatever] got a [Timeframe] ban would be nice.

Something which indicates me that this system is doing anything would already make it better for me.

Edit: Also a way to see what I get reported for would be nice (Whonder who actually reports me for hacking as they always say)

Sorry mate, I read it out of context, but I did allude that complaints are reviewed when a note is put onto the account, which still puts a human element into the final decision.

Can we get a feature that when a friendly has done team damage or team killed me that I can right click there name and "forgive" them, and have them not get any penalties?  As a bad player driving light tanks I've driven in front of people in scope mode too often and probably caused some problems.  In those situations I wish this feature were there since it was my fault.
