Group Stage Standings

 

Basic Tournament Information for Skirmish 40

Please see tournament page for all information

 

  • Team Size: 6 combatants + 3 reserves
  • Map Pool: Airfield
  • Mode: Standard
  • Tier Point Minimum: 15
  • Tier Point Maximum: 30
  • Tier Limits:
    • This represents the max tier allowed. Teams are allowed to bring lower tiers. 
    • Light: Tier 4
    • Medium:  Tier 5
    • Heavy: Tier 5
    • TD: Tier 5
    • SPG: Tier 4

Correction:

Mode: Standard - Teams are allowed to camp as many times as they want and force draws to promote dynamic games.

 

I hear encounter mode makes tourneys less boring & stale. But then again, what do I know :unsure:

Seriously, why are all skirmishes and weekday warfares not encounter? It creates a much more dynamic game than "lets camp here guys and wait for them to cross into our guns or for the timer to run out".

Bring arty back to pre-tier 10 standards and you will not see campers ever succeed again.

I understand you, but who the [edited] would ever bring arty to a skirmish? That's just asking to lose because any team that isn't brain dead will just instantly push on you because you're effectively a tank down in a brawl.

Spot on.

There are a few exceptions.

We recently used a FV304 on Abbey (4vs4) since 1 team we faced during the playoffs thought it was smart to camp with 2 tier 6 O-Is. We were successful in breaking their lame camp.

 

Encounter is not perfect either. Some teams will purposely wait for your team to start capping before they move from their hiding spot nearby. Then they proceed to surround you as you try to lure them out.

Its mainly what team callers/strategists come up with for certain maps. It's irritating to say the least.

I don't think you quite understand.  Arty hasn't been very good for quite some time.  Before they completely nerfed the hell out it, arty had great sway in any fight.  ie a bison could really damage tier 8 tanks and the occasional smack on a tier 10.  The SU-26 was a complete nuisance on the battlefield.  Now they are a nothing tank and worthless to bring.  Arty is almost worthless to bring into most fights.

I personally  wouldn't mind seeing arty put back to what they were during the first year of release.  Then you would see campers really get destroyed for lack of a hiding spot because they gave up the map.

But alas this will never happen.  Arty will continue to be almost useless and campers will continue for lack of being able to do indirect fire.

 New Skirmish rules include four days of unseeded group stage followed by a 16-team, single elimination playoff bracket over the weekend. On top of that, Gold will now be awarded based on Group Stage rank earned each day, with the top 10% of teams winning 500per day in addition to the bigger prizes, including an 8,000grand prize.

 

Tournament page is 3 days of group stage and top 10% payout of 1000g per day.  Might want to update one or the other.

Looking for a team, I am available every day including early for any practice. I bring to this:

 

OI Exp: 2.5 perk crew.

T67: 4 perk crew

T34: 3 perk crew

Luch: 1.5 perk crew

KV1: 3 perk crew


 

Most anything else is arms reach away. My usual team is taking the week off after doubling up Canadian Turkeyday and Skirmish 39 but im gold hungry....
