This thread is for feedback and discussion about Operation Safari.

Operation Safari Regulations.

Please discuss anything related to Operation Safari: your thoughts, what works ,what doesn't, what can be improved, etc.

Please remain as constructive as possible. Saying "this sucks" does not help if you do not explain why, nor does it offer a possible solution.

If you encounter a bug, submit a screenshot and the python log (a .txt file in your World of Tanks install folder) of an unmodded client to Clan Management support.

FAQ

1) What tier?

Tier VIII.

2) If I already have the tanks, do I get credits or gold?

If you've already got the tank, you'll get the gold.

FCM50t - 11,900 gold
T23E3 - 7,000 gold

3) Is this coming out after/before 10.0 and the changes to the GM2?

More info on that will be posted in the coming weeks.

4) Will divisions still cost influence?  Will influenced be gained on this map for the destruction of enemy divisions?

Yes, when you're on the map.  Since everything's an LZ, LZ rules apply: 2 primetimes free.  Influence will be gained for destroying enemy divisions that were created on the map.

5) Will ELO calculations be live for this event? Will ELO be based on our tier 8 ELO, or our tier 10 ELO?

ELO is active.  Awaiting confirmation that it'll be reset due to being a new front.  ELO rating corresponds to the current ELO rating on the Tier VIII Front (will be added to the article)

6) If I'm top in FP and in a Top 5 clan, what tank do I get?

Clan licenses will be calculated first, so you'll get the FCM50t.  Players will only receive one tank, and will not be able to choose which one they receive.

WGNA will be allowing players who earned FCM 50ts to change to a T23E3.

7) Does that 5 battles include Randoms?

5 battles in the clan on the event map.

8) I saw a Clan with more than 2 landings.  Is this a bug?

Essentially, there are two active landing applications per primetime.  For example, you apply for two provinces at the 1500 primetime.  At 1400, when those battles are seeded, the applications are turned into Divisions.  Thus, your two landing application slots are now open, and can be used for a later primetime.

9) If I already have land on Safari, can I land on another province?

Yes, per Regulation 1.3: "The opportunity to participate in landing tournaments is enabled, even if you have provinces on the Global Map"

10) If I already have land on Safari, can I land on the Season Tier VI front?

No, once you own land on one front, you can only play on that front.  You can chip LZs on both fronts at the same time if you don't own land on either.  If you continue to win all yours battles, then you'll be able to own land on both fronts, but can only place your HQ on one.

Please note: once you own land on the Season Front, you will not be able to apply for a landing on the Safari Front.

11) So my FP history shows a deduction by "Customer Service Center".  Why?

"Customer Service Center" is default for anything that happens on the portal, and not necessarily from WGNA support.  I checked with the devs, and it appears that some players received FP for battles that they did not participate in.  The players had to be in the Special Battles window for the particular battle.

12) vegan tanks whar?

Last I heard, sometime October 26.  I'm getting confirmation due to the T23E3 buff and 10.0.

I got a post onto the locked announcement thread :teethhappy:

Spoiler

-Nooooo, they edited it out-

In all seriousness though, what is the thought process behind not having any new, previously unreleased tanks for prizes.  At least in BUNNY, those reward vehicles are THE reason that players participate in these campaigns.  The officer core has to do a mountainous amount of work to keep the clan on track, and getting their members the tank is the biggest motivating factor behind making them commit their time.

Along with the new policy of credits for previously obtained premiums, what is the motivation for someone in a good clan who got the T23e3 last summer and already owns the 50t?  WG has been testing a BUNCH of mid tier premiums of late, (I don't remember names, I think one was the VK. 1001p?) why not slate one of THEM for this campaign?

EDIT: Confirmed: you get gold for the tanks if you have them already

I understand this is a Mini Campaign, but with the way rewards are given now. Will people who already own the FCM 50t just earn 3 million credits after all the effort we put in. Because to be honest no one really wants a T23E3 as there are so many other better tier 7 tanks in the game. Why put in all the effort to only recieve 3 million credits after 2 weeks of hell. At least the IS-5 was a brand new tank. And so was the T23E3 the previous time it was given away as a reward tank.

Why would you announce a campaign before implementing any changes in regular 2.0?

not like anyone in na has control over this stuff. And tbh it will be a welcome break from that neverending influence grind.

Why do you think you won't be required to influence grind for this?  Division mechanics are likely identical and you'll probably be required to do competitive auctions and to abandon divisions/leave map to accomplish objectives.

The 'best' part will be how some members of a clan will grind influence and then demand officers let them get in game to earn the fame points.  It's a whole new dynamic for campaigns to use to destroy an officer corps.

I'm just waiting to see how they incorporate ELO into this.

For players who already own the reward tanks, will they be compensated in gold, or just in credits?

I'm going to assume it is just credits, which makes it seem pointless. Even if they give you a special camo for it as well before giving you the credits.

TBH you should have done 500 23e3's and 1800 M56 scorpions.......People would have been a tad more excited for the event maybe?

Twix confirmed ForumPack user.  Since this is the first mini-event on the New Global Map, some things are being tested, and the improved T23E3 is still somewhat rare.  The first full campaign will likely have a much nicer tank.

If you've already got the tank, you'll get the gold.

FCM50t - 11,900 gold
T23E3 - 7,000 gold

I know you already have the infrastructure to allow people to pick the rewards they want from the third campaign.  Could you put such a system in place for this one.  In the last mini campaign with two prizd tiers I accidentally got a few to many points and ended up with a 112 instead of the T23 I wanted, and it would be nice to have the option to choose a lesser prize this time.
