I was just buying upgrades for my medium tank when I received some elite status with a little golden symbol on my light tank. What is this for and does it do anything?

That symbol means that you have researched all the possible modules for that tank.

It gives you two options:

1. Accelerate crew training - all the XP earned by that tank will go towards training your tank's crew (you just need to check the box on the upper right hand of the window on the RESEARCH section of that tank)
2. Use the tank to make FREE XP. All the XP earned by that tank can be converted to Free XP by using GOLD, which you can use to unlock other tanks/modules. Leave the check box clear to continue earning regular XP. Again, going this route will require GOLD.

Hope that helped a bit! :)

Means you've bought every upgrade for your tank. Now you can convert all the exp. you earn into free exp(with gold), and use it on any tank you want.

Put up a screen shot of your garage where it shows all your research for the tank you are talking about. Otherwise it's hard to tell why your PZ4 isn't showing the elite icon. Are you sure you also researched the next tank as well as the upgrades for the PZ4 on its tech tree?

To reach elite status you have to research every upgrade for the tank INCLUDING all the tanks it leads to.  For PzIV this means you have to research and unlock the VK3001(H), VK3601 and Hummel.

Are you POSITIVE that the message was about the PzIV??

Odds are that you researched a shared module on the PzIV that was the last missing part on another tank, therefore making that other tank elite.  That happened while i was upgrading my own PzIV - it just shares so many parts with the other German lines!

What specific part did the message pop up on?  The final engine also goes into the Hummel, StuGIII, PzIII, PzIIIA, Leopard, AND PzIII/IV, so it could have been one of those.  The final radio also tops off the PzIII, if you didn't get it back then.

if this is the case, its just wrong.
because that way i need to earn over 87,000 exp points to get Elite?
it will take years!

how do the balance work here? they expect me to still have this tank after i have milions points, and load of exp?

i need "elite" to help me use this PZ to the max, and that way that it is doesnt make sense

<_<
when u put it like that, im not positive.
maybe it was an announced for Pz III...

but - its NOT RIGHT. it takes to long to progress that way,
if i make everything TOP Notch in my tank, what does it have to do with the next ones?
when i make MY tank top in all componets, then i should get Elite.  :Smile_great:

wow, quadruple post... congrats  :Smile_great:  <_<

You'll actually find some tanks like this... M3 Lee, KV, PzIV all branch off to some random SPG/Arty... Just have to move on from that tank really unless you want to waste the time/battles working towards something you may not use... better to go onto the next Tier tank, retrain the crew to that particular tank, and keep going, imo  :Smile-izmena:

You know being elite ONLY means you  can convert the exp to free exp using gold, right? Otheriwse it does nothing.

And from what you described the 'Elite' message you recieved was for another tank that used the module researched.

Mannster, I had the exact same thing happen to me.  I researched everything on my Panzer 3 except for the last radio, which costs 7200 exp.  I decided to skip it and just research it on my Panzer 4.  Well, after a couple of days I had forgotten about that little fact and saw it was the last module I had to research on the 4, so I did.  I got this message telling me that my vehicle was now elite, but I still had things left on the 4 to research.  It took me a little while to remember that the radio I just researched made my Panzer 3 elite, not my Panzer 4.  I imagine something very similar happened to you.

You Don't have to elite ever tank you can just research the next tank up and move on..I did that with the M3 Lee know latter on I might go back and make it elite just to have it elite...
