Hello all, Amazing Ace from Tanks-Encyclopedia.

Part 1: http://forum.worldof...ourci-mle-1934/

Part 2: http://forum.worldof...indes-materiel/

I'm writing an informational book about the Renault FT avec 25 mm (yes, hype it up for me please :D) and I have several questions:

Firstly, several pictures show the Renault FT with a lifting eye/hook, I was wondering if anyone can confirm that this was its purpose?

Spoiler

Secondly, there seems to be a slit on the cupola roof to attach signal flags, can anyone confirm this?

Spoiler

Thirdly, can anyone help me find real life images of a Renault FT with turret vision slits, shown below?

Spoiler

Thanks in advance, I need all the help I can get. :)

1) Probably for lifting the turret on or off

2) Yes:

3) Here's a restored one:

From what I can find, the vision slits were only on certain riveted turrets and not on the cast/welded (whichever) turrets

the hook is probably for shipping/cargo/transportation of the vehicle.

Thank you! First image is great. :)

As for the second image, I read somewhere that the FT in that picture is a replica, so I'm unsure about that. I've seen video footage of rounded turrets with vision slits, but I have yet to confirm this.

I'm surprised how many FT's had the lifting eye yet no pictures of it being used.
